I had a really roller coaster night.
First part. I kicked myself out of the tournament in a mid stage.
Just to let you know who I am .
I had a big 60K+ stack when I "smartly" decided to bluff 1-st time in a tourney against 50K SB on a new table. I raise UTG+1 5k , SB minraised +5100.
SB checked A,4,2 flop and I shoved with air assuming he had Q,Q or K,K . Well , he had pocket As. And I lost most of my chips.
Was moved to new table and sit next to Jerseys. I was really steaming and just donated my last 9K in 10 minutes or so to Jerseys ( my A,J vs K,K ). He declared that I am dead pre.

Played cash. Bought for $300 at 1/2 and slowly get to $700. Moved to 2/5 get some more chips... And was hit around 3:00AM buy a "I just fill it" bus driver , who shoved after my raise on a turn with a gut shut draw and rivered me. I called with A,K TPTK. I completely freaked. Which is really unusual for me. Ended night -$100.

I have to admit that a field at 10k tourney was not as soft as it used to be
with 200+ players.

What else?
Older guy at my 2/5 table hit Royal on a BBJ break.

And we had a situation at our tourney table when if you had 7,2 and stay
you would be good 4 hands sequentially.

usually when a field loses players over time the top of the field doesn't leave. but its still rather soft

Trip Report including dramas:

I played 1/2 yesterday all day, bunch of interesting hands happened but unfortunately biggest thing that happened was me accidentally angle shooting this guy, and here is what happened:

Ok so, old-ish guy with heavy accent is like directly opposite form me for like 5 hours. He takes forever to act and at one point, takes like... over a minute to call a re-raise shove from another player of about $35 into a $150+ dollar pot while holding bottom set on the flop... shover shows AA for the loss here. This isn't completely relevant, but moving on.

So I end up limping J8s and a random guy shoves for his last $10. Old guy calls, and I figure what the heck, and I call as well. So we are three handed and the flop comes JJx. I forget the exact action, but im betting hard into him. Turn is an Ace, I bet more, he calls. River is a 7. I bet like 3/4 and he is mumbling, taking his time, wondering outloud whether I have an ace. Because of this, and based on the action in the hand, In assume I have him crushed (there was -no- way he had a J, I was 100000% sure at the time).

So anyway, he is taking his time, and I am not really looking directly at him (poker face, obv), and I hear what I think is "call" and him start to move chips in. Not wanting to be a dick and slowroll, I immediately flip over J8. I quickly notice he actually moved in a stack of reds ($100), but before I (or anyone else) can say anything, he flips over 77.

At this point the floor comes over and a whole ****storm ensues for the next half hour.

That's the first time I've been at the center at anything ****ty, and I felt bad about it and apologized a lot. Other than that, It was a pretty fun time. Played with some cool Mohegan regulars, and the table was actually relatively challenging.

Some other interesting hands:

This one I messed up INSANELY badly, probably the worst fold I've made live ever:

Appearently a 1/2-2/5 player sits down (she moved to 2/5 later). I have KK in like CO/BTN-ish area (forget exactly). MP raises, next guy calls, I re-raise to $27, new woman calls, MP calls, other guy folds.

Flop is like T 3 7 rainbow, I raise, two callers. One of the callers only has $2.00 left. I am being silly, so on the turn, which must have been a brick cuz I don't remember what card it was, I just raise $2.00 to put him all in, but the woman sees this and thinks I am weak and raises a lot.

At this point, I should have realized she was confused over the $2.00 bet, but I'm like... There was a raise, call, re-raise before her preflop, then she just calls on a dry flop, then bets big on the turn... I was convinced she had TT/77 so I cried and folded, and she turns over KTs. No excuse for this play by me, insanely dumb, still PISSED at myself about this.

Two hands later, It was me vs. her again and I picked off her turn/river double barrel with middle pair, which made me feel a little better. She left soon after for 2/5 (or so someone at the table said).

Another hand (I usually remember hands I **** up in, ;P): I had AA. I get vs. a pretty good regular, I don't remember the flop, but it had 2 Spades, otherwise was pretty dry. I raise, he calls. I can't ever play things the simple way, so I check the turn to try and get more monies, and he checks behind. River is the Ace of spades, giving me trips but making possible spade flush. I raise like 35-40 and he makes it 75 more... should fold here but I tank and call and he shows 98s for the flush.

Hope to head over again soon, but making it a one-day trip is sick. By the time I drove home I had been up for almost 24 hours and it was raining and pitch black on I-95 in Connecticut and it suckedddddddd.

this may have been discussed already, but i do not have the time to filter through the entire thread, so i apologize beforehand. How does the rake work at MS? im thinking of taking a trip and i usually play in AC. I know at FW they used to take 5 dollars every 30 min from every player (which sucked), is this how it is at MS?Thanks!

xbeatax has it right and just so you know Foxwoods has the same rake structure now. I like Mohegan better overall but if you are looking to play
things besides 1-2 and 2-5 nl Foxwoods has better game selection. Good luck!

And then: AQ in MP, I raise to isolate, get a caller, QTT flop. Bet, calls. Turn is a brick. Bet, calls. River is a J. I bet, called. Villain shows 98 for his caught gutshot. Ow.

And then, the big cooler. I limp with 88, 6-way action, flop is Q87r...reminds me of Saturday, so I pot it and get a caller. Turn is a 5. I bet, villain SHOVES. Did he really call me with a gutterball...again?!?! I call...and he shows 64o. I nearly cry, get ready to leave...board pairs on the river, YES! THE CURSE IS BROKEN!

And then I proceed to lose every coinflip all-in (I shove JJ into AQo, lose. I shove AQs into TT, lose. I even shove QQ into KTo and lose) and get shortstacked and on life support 3 times, and yet, survive.

And I mincash in 15th. I probably was on life support for over half the tourney, too.
Ha, sounds a lot like the last tourney I played up there - lived on life support for pretty much all of it. Not that much fun but it does make the mincash feel like an accomplishment.
