. . .
Playing 2 4 limit holdem is as appealing as root canal without novacaine imo. Remember playing 5 years ago some guy at foxwoods had his cards mucked in error called over floor who told him to proctet cards that he was out of his 2 dollar blind. He demanded to see floor supervisor so they refunded everyone the money and called missdeal lol. All over 2 bucks.

My experience is that the 1/2 PLO will usually go off in the evenings on a weekend. I don't get down there all too often (broke) but if you hear someone spouting at the room about joining the PLO game ("its the greatest game on earth!"), that's me.

I'll be at Mohegan around 4 or 5. I'll play 1-2 PLO if there's a game.

Last time I took Academy to Mohegan (back in oct though) bonus was 10 food comp, and about 25 in bonus play (I didnt even use these, just gave them to someone sweating the 5/10 gam)

So no cash bonus etc.

The 4/8 O8 and 1/2 PLO games didn't go off last night, but I was impressed with the dealers @ MS and would have loved to play in the bounty tournament if I didn't have to go to dinner @ MJ's steakhouse. (Woe is me! ) More to come this weekend or early next week in a mini-TR.

Anyone have any thoughts on the Stud Hi games at MS? I was thinking about doing the tournament on 7/23, but have no prior B&M Stud Hi tourney experience.

now that the max buy in for the 2/5 is 1k there are going to be some ridiculous stacks from time to time...is this the only room in the country with a 2/5 1000 max game?

I think? (unconfirmed) that the Taj in AC has 1K max buy ins for their 2/5 game (though have never played, do not want to get ebola)

Also V and Wynn of course have deeper buy ins (though recently changed) for 2/5 and 5/10

And one of the Tunica 2/5 games (because its the biggest game in the room) has a high cap or no capped game as well

The Taj 2/5 is a $500 cap. I use to play at Mohegan daily and now have switched to Atlantic City. Bruce(poker manager at Mohegan formerly at Borgata) has done an awesome job at Mohegan with promos and such for the players. For those of you that have played there, he gives things such as deli comps for the top 150 hourly players each month, will pretty much spread n e thing you want if you have the players and is aggressively trying to get some of the limit action from Foxwoods. Overall, the dealers are quite skilled and have good personalities (keeping their own tokes does not hurt). Other than those mid limit structure players, I see no reason to play at Foxwoods. You are treated like cattle there and since the dealers do not keep their own tokes, the incentive to deal a fast game plummets. I would of never left there if I did not have the desire to be right on the ocean and the need to have more than two rooms to choose from. If you are going to play NL in CT, without question, Mohegan is the venue.

Anyone play the 1-2 PLO at Mohegan last night??? I want to hear their thoughts on it. The game was jam packed with action. It took a while to get started but by the end of the night the game was full and at one point there was actually a list for it. After just an hour of getting the game going there was more money on the table than any 1-2NL game in the room. There seemed to be someone all-in every hand. I have to say I definitely enjoyed it and looking forward to playing again. I just wish they had the game going all the time. I'll look for it again this weekend and definitely count me in for next Monday night.

thats good to know! there has been a 1/2 PLO game @ FW the past two saturdays but has either been full of goodish players or the fish just go broke so fast the action dies off pretty quickly.

I walked by the game. The players who start it don't have a good strategy for keeping the game going.

When you walk by the MS game you can tell that they are having fun, absolutely not the case at Woods. So:

- Agree from the start whether it's high or hilo, probably start with the simpler one.

- talk, laugh, smile. Order a beer even if you aren't going to drink it.

- more controversially, a few multiway limped pots will make the game APPEAR softer to passersby, so maybe throw in the 2$ in a marginal situation.

Simply, don't look nitty and at leaast pretend to have fun.. I see the FW omaha table all the time with a bunch of stoney silent players staring down each other and anyone who walks up. No borderline guy who's there for fun is going to want to sit down. Note how 10-20 stud still runs an all night guffaw with a tiny player pool.

Anybody at table 2 with me today for the dude who slammed his fists on the table after overcalling all-in with K9 on the K8x board? You'll remember, he's the one who stood up after losing that hand and bit himself so hard on his finger that he started bleeding on the cards a few hands later...

I have to say I agree with this 100%. I've walked by a shorthanded 1-2 PLO game at MS and it looked brutal. It had 4-6 players at it and didn't look fun at all. That day I decided not to play. PLO is a fairly new game to me and I'm not about to sit down with a bunch of nits. If people made the game look fun it would def attract more people.

How are the 2/5 weekend games? Do you get many fish buying in for the 1k max or do they tend to shy away?

Ahahaha.. I was the guy who won that pot with K8. I think that guy had K10. I was actually a little scared when he started punching things (was sitting right next to him). Who were you?
