Yes I have a tip. Lose 50k in one day. Then jump off the Riverview garage.

These are echos from the 2:5 game here. Do not play here if you wanna keep your sanity
Some of these are generic but I’m certain I can name 3 of the players at your table today based solely on this post. LOL!

It was $800 up until Jan 1, 2015 (I believe this was the year). Rebecca told me at the time it was due to the competition all having 500max and when they did their shopping found many Mohegan 1/2 players sitting in 2/5 games at Foxwoods. She wasn't wrong that there was a dozen or so semi-regs who would play 2/5 at FW but 1/2 at MS but even after they lowered it to 500 these players didn't change their routine. When I was in their games and asked a couple of them they cited "collusion" at Mohegan 2/5 which had ended years ago when certain players left, went broke, found jobs, went to jail, got banned, or disappeared for whatever reason.....but the reputation was never repaired.

I always felt 1/2 players simply felt intimidated being up on the stage while the 800max games had many pros who generated monster stacks either from game profit or multiple rebuys which again led to more intimidation.

I could be wrong, but i thought they changed it back to 500 to try to attract a regular 5/10 game.

They should just uncap it and remove promo drop.

That may have been one of the many rumors circulating however I had conversations with her both prior to the change as well as after the fact when so many of the regs were losing their minds. The reasoning was that this change was coinciding with the promo shifting to fixed payout high hands to encourage more players to grow the 2/5 pool which was effective for awhile. For whatever reason they stopped running the fixed payout high hands during the week.

Does 7.50-15 HORSE run on Mondays anymore?
Used to play that game every Monday back in the day (4+ years ago)
Back in town and would love to play that game again

Your best bet is Thursday. It’s been running every week except last week for the holiday

Any idea how late the HORSE game usually runs? Thinking of heading to play tonight if it will still be running. I won’t make it till 7ish though

Played here for the first time in years Friday night. It's strange to me that there is a VP bar, stadium games, and a Johnny Rockets inside the poker room.

Any opinions on the Saturday 11 am tournament 150.00 buy in?
Approximately how many players and if it’s a donk fest or legit players?
Thanks

Usually 60-70 when I've played.

Skill level is pretty standard for a small buy-in tournament. A mix of OK regs, fit or fold tourist types, a few decent players.

Foxwoods runs a $300 at the same time, so you'd expect the better players to be there.

It's a total donk fest. I've played it at least 25 times and recently played it twice after a year or so off from live poker and made the final table both times. The first time it had 86 runners and we chopped it 5 handed. The second time (last weekend) it only got 47 runners but something may have been going on at Foxwoods, or just a slow day.

The Mohegan tournaments really are a dream and even with the horrible structures and moderately high rake, and 10 handed (ugh) they can be extremely profitable for anyone who looks at a Nash chart and basic pre-flop hand opening structures.

In the first 3-5 levels, if you have 10 people at the table, 6 of them will be limping 70% of their range and raising the top 3%.

3-betting might as well be back in 2001 where if you have QQ and get 3-bet, you're only up against AA or KK. I see flat calls with AKs all the time, and got super nit rolled by some guy who had AQs and a 5bb stack. He just couldn't believe I was going all in with my stack size (which was 13bb, what????) and was just moaning and sweating and finally cry called.

Learn some short stack play and you have an instant edge over 70% of the field. Learn pre flop opening ranges and short stack strategy and you're in the top 10% of players in the pool.

FYI - the $150 is NOT running this week.

This week the 11 AM is the Summer Showdown $1,100 $100k Gtd.

Sunday is a $300 $25k GTD. Not exactly sure what to expect since nothing is going on at Foxwoods. I’m guessing the guarantee will get smashed because the old $330 $30k used to get over 200 runners all the time.
Might be a good spot if the $1k is going at the same time and people bust out and tilt register the $300
