Not sure about the booze if I had a choice I would vote no booze....it's the number 1 reason games go down at last call..

I can't wait to see these fish coming down the escalator...I remember when I was 14 going downstairs to the racetrack who would have thought those stairs were gonna turn into a legit poker room...

See u guys in the am......and as a post script I hope some of the thieve harness drivers come in after the races so I can get back the money they been cheating me for years!!!

Thanks man that would be awesome! I would rather the 2/5 NLHE but anything higher than 1/2 NLHE will make me a happy man! If you want to put me on a 2/5 NLHE interest list as well that would be great ill play whichever game goes off first.

I could be completely wrong but that's my best guess. I'm positive this will not happen after they open for real tomorrow morning.

For Al Blanda: First, thank you SO MUCH for posting here; the direct interaction to get accurate info is essential in these early days. I bounce between DC area & a house near Scranton on weekends & have been closely following both the MS&PD and Charles Town, WV openings for the past 7+ months. Based on what I have witnessed related to the Charles Town thread, I have a few suggestions/requests related to MS&PD thread now that the big day is finally here:

First- it would be great to close this thread (now that the grand opening is happening) & restart a new "post opening" one to make searching easier, and start over, eliminating all the pre-opening speculation/rumors. This helped a lot for focusing the Charles Town thread discussions.

Create a "FAQ" link in the first post, with updated/confirmed basic info like:

link to the official web site, poker room phone #;
poker room hours;
number of current poker tables open + schedule for any expansion plans;
what games are regularly being spread (daily, on weekends, and upon request/occasionally);
min/max buy-ins;
rake structure for the various games (the CT thread is obsessed with this topic);
house rules on things like straddling, Bad Beat Jackpot info, etc.;
wait list sign up procedures/rules;
comp/rating structure;
Dare I say... plans/structure for future tournaments?

BONUS FAQ info - logistical/environmental stuff, like:
driving directions/mass transit info;
hotel room info on poker rate/availability;
smoking policy;
food/drink service availability

As of today, the official web site is basically devoid of any useful poker info - getting some basics up there would be great if Al has the ability to make that happen.

Most of the basic questions new posters are asking that are wasting everyone's brain bandwidth could then be answered with "RTFF!" - allowing the discussion to be more substantial & less repetitive - trip reports, wish list, the normal complaints about rake structure, etc. I'd love to see a standardized FAQ sticky like that for every B&M casino that has an active thread on 2+2.

Can't wait to stop by this weekend!

As for directions google usually works

You are missing my point. It is not that I want directions or the rest of that information, I am hoping for a discussion thread unclogged by people repeatedly just asking for the same basic info that could be answered by looking at a simple FAQ. I didn't dream this up, I am basing it off of the endlessly repeated "hey what tables are running?" and "what is the rake structure?" posts on the other new room threads.

The new thread idea was based on what 2+2 has done for the other new rooms, splitting between pre-opening & post-opening discussions to help searching, not a big deal.

I stopped off @ MS@PD today and when I arrived around 2 p.m. there were about 50 names on the 1/2 NL list and 30 on the 2/5 NL list with every table going. After about 20 min. I realized that there were open seats but no one was calling names...lol...I found a seat and sat down.

It looks like they had 1/2 NL, 2/5 NL 5/5 NL and 10/10 NL going. There was a list of interest for a bunch of PLO and Omaha H/L games but I don't think they had anything going yet.

Things that I loved about the room.

1.) the players seem very weak
2.) One Dollar an Hour comp rate
3.) 4 dollar max rake

Downsides

1.) The floor had no clue. Hopefully this will get better in a couple of days, weeks. No one seemed in charge or willing to take charge
2.) Bring Drinks with you. It's impossible to get a drink. I made two orders and nothing came.

I only played about 30 min. as I had other things to do doing the day. I ended up Plus 45 bucks. I just hope next time I as least hit a pair...LOL...I would pick your spots carefully in this room. You are going to get looked up very very light.

Art's the man. Thanks.

Comments on my visit:

The room was very nice. The play was a mix of strong and weak.

IMO, the floor did a marvelous job for opening day! There were a few experienced floor people, but the dealers were freshly trained rookies (no local casinos to steal staff from). Clearly they will improve with experience.

If you went with the expectation that the performance would be up to Borgata or Foxwoods level, you were probably disappointed. However, most players came with the right expectations. Hands per hour will improve from here.

I arrived early and got seated within 10 minutes of opening. For most of the day, the list for NL 1/2 was quite long. It cleared by 4:30.

I was pleasantly surprised by the waitresses. Our waitress was constantly circling and providing enough drinks to float a ship. In this regard, my experience was actually far better than Borgata or Foxwoods. (nepa had a different experience -- see above)

The cage was completely overwhelmed. Hint: there is another cashier up the staircase by the snack bar.

Good luck when you visit.

I didn't come with those expectations.

But I will say around 2 p.m. the floors list system wasn't working and there were seats open for long periods of time with them calling out no names. I just sat down and I never heard my name called. Like I said, I'm sure they'll get it in the next couple of days weeks.

1.) Dealers rarely yelling open seat.
2.) If they called names there was no one checking to see if anyone showed up or not. Most times no one showed up and then 5 min. later they would call out more names.....lol
3.) I got really lucky with the Dealer that dealt at my table for the Most part. He was from the Foxwood's and really was a great dealer.
4.) If they get someone that takes charge on the floor it will be the end of the seating problem.
5.

Side note: I had to LOL at the cage. It takes them like a min or 2 to ship you 200 in chips. Cashing out took even longer. I think the one lady counted them one by one.. Just an observation

I'v been play live cash for a couple of years doing very well for the most part. If you can beat .01/.02 cent you should be able to beat most of the games here.

I think I'm going to challenge myself to try and build a 2000 stack playing 1/2 this weekend. I'm putting the over under @ 6 hours.

They had 1-5 Stud going yesterday and 10/20 LHE The limit HE is not raked. It's 5 bucks per half hour timed.

I went twice yesterday and the First time the floor had no clue on seating people but the Second time I went they were on the ball and seating people regularly.

I still can't believe that they had a 10/20 NL game going strong. It got short handed for a little bit but when I left @ about 2 a.m. they still had 8 people seated with very deep stacks of chips. Hands down this is going to be one of the best rooms in the state. Hopefully, in the near future they start to spread some 10/20 Omaha H/L and/or some 1/2 or 2/5 PLO would be awesome.

I was told by a floor person/manager who was changing the cards at the table that the comp rate is 2+2 bits, which is fity cent, which is 50 freaking cents, which is 1/2 of a dollar, which is 10 hours of play equals a bowl of soup.

But you do get a free hamburger from Johnny Rocket's on your birthday.

Sorry I am not the best TR writer. This was my first attempt at one. So please go easy on me.

Went down today played 1/2. I was 13th on the list when I got there then one of my buddies left so I just snagged his seat and avoided the 2hr wait. Sorry to those of you ahead of me. The afternoon portion of the game was LOL. Lots of limping a seeing flops. You could raise to $16 and get 5 callers. Mostly older people at the table. Then around 5-6pm the table I was at started tighting up/played a bit more standard but still not great there was a new crop of players with the exception of 2-3 of us.

I ended up even for the day. I was up $175 early on and wasn't ready to leave yet. Then I got coolered a few times by the calling stations chasing 2 pair the whole way, or someone what a hands just a bit better than mine. I ended up having to leave once I got even.

You can tell that it's like a feeding frenzy right now. Most of the people know each other or other people that knows someone. It's a small but decent size poker scene around here. I am going to go out on a limb here and say that in a few months it's going to be a reg fest where most people know each other. I knew about 7 people as soon as I walked in and other people knew those people...etc.

I will be back tomorrow I can only play the afternoon. I am the guy with the goat tee and the brown Dickies Hoodie. Feel free to come by and say whats up, if you where at my table today it was fun.

About the dealers: We had one dealer that was terrible (wont say his name) we were joking that he should be at the money wheel (if they even have one). Just to avoid getting tilted. He was seated for about an hr we saw about 8 hands. Other than him most dealers where trying and friendly and seem like they will improve. The floor is friendly. And it appears they are trying to get all the kinks worked out.

There chips: I cant stand them they are incredibly light weight and it took some time to get used to.

You can be sure whenever I'm there I will be looking to play any limit game between 3/6 and 6/12. I'm hoping once things settle in a reasonable limit game will get a foothold. Maybe 4/8 can have a reasonable expectation of going regularly and staying healthy.

Not this weekend for me, but I will play any LHE up to 10/20 and will be available next Fri-Mon to play. If you want to try to set something up for next weekend, I'll be there.

I was able to get a few hands in yesterday about 10AM. Five tables, I think 4 were Hold'em 1/2 NL and one was stud. Staff was very friendly and well trained but still a little slow.

Room was great but there will be not walk in trade. All tables had automatic shufflers.
