The bar scene is excellent. If you are taking a solo trip I would suggest staying at the woodlands.

They redid the streamside rooms. They are not great, but I've stayed in much worse in AC.

If you are looking for girls, dancing and bands it is a pretty good place. If you are looking for more of a nice place to just have a drink they don't have that

No Dealers keep their own tips.

They were almost done with construction when I was up there last Thursday. I won't be back until Saturday when I hope to see everything done. That means the state can come in and do their final inspection. That means we can hear a semi-hard date (that's what she said).

Was at Mohegan last night, they had some Journey tribute band out on the deck, so took a walk down to check things out. I wandered down on the track apron, and you had total free reign to go anywhere down there at the time. Door leading into the poker room from the outside was wide open, I was tempted to push my luck and walk the extra 15ft into the room... but I held back

Nothing groundbreaking, but from the outside you can see some nice stone work inside of the room and two large flat screens on the wall. Look like around 50" LCD's.... maybe the waiting list TV's? Don't know...

In any case, lots of construction going on at Mohegan with the poker room, table games area, and the section over by Bar Louie. For those that haven't been in awhile, all the regular gaming tables are actually there already... just needing felt and chip trays and such. Looks like the section over by Bar Louie is getting some of the high limit slots moved there. Not sure what's going to become of the high limit slots room... maybe more tables there? Asian games room? Just speculating...

Post back with any more thoughts/info... definitely getting pumped for things to open up.

Which parking space would be the best and closest to the poker room?
Does the room have any wood trim on the walls?

What's a "soft opening"? Basically a test run so everything is good at the... "grand opening"? Or is it invite-only?

Soft openings are when he dealers and crew man there posts and guests gamble with play money. I'm going there tommorow to bet the Belmount and will inquire further details to see if the date is still the same and peak in at the poker room if possible.

I am told the slot players are getting free coffee and soda but no alcohol.
Will it be the same for the poker players?

Soft opening is just an opening without the grand opening advertising. Which is usually scheduled a month or three later with the advertising and all the fanfare.

Check out the Woodlands. It's less than a mile away and there is a lot of partying action there as well.

I can't wait for MS @ pocano downs to open. Does anyone know if Live Staddling is going to be allowed?

Don't be surprised if the wait list are very very long for the first couple of weekends. I might show up by 4-5 O'clock on Fridays with plans on staying until 4 5 6 in the morning for the first couple of weekend playing either 1/2 or 2/5 NL HE but I would also play 1/2 PLO 10/20 HOSE 10/20 Omaha H/L with a full kill.

No stud for me but I believe there is a chance for a lot of Stud action @ MS@PD because don't forget this is going to be opening in the Coal Region. I would LOL if there was a 5/10 Draw poker game spread.

I wonder if guns are going to be allow on the tables?

I have never seen a draw poker game in the Wilkes-Barre area. The last coal mine in the area closed 30 years ago.

Time for you to catch up, you are decades behind.

I can't see why not. The tax rate is such that MS@PcD is not interested in handing out booze to less-than-premium players.

A live straddle is not going to be allowed when the Poker Room opens but you are more than welcome to do a blind raise with no option. This issue will be reevaluated based on guest feedback after opening.
