Speaking of comps Art, is there anything in place to allow regular poker players a path to higher level players club cards?

I'd assume that earning the required points (however many that is) through play will get you to Elite, but is that realistically achievable for someone who plays somewhat regularly? Any specific number of hours/month or something that can get you an upgrade?

I just got my Elite card in the mail last week & all I have ever played is poker starting in July - no table games, slots, etc. Said the level required was 125 points, which I believe translates to 125 hours of poker in 6 months (need to re-qualify every 6 months to maintain the Elite). I only play on weekends usually, so it is definitely possible for a regular player to get it.

Went to MS@PD tonight......

I'm coming from Northern NJ, so it's a bit further than Mt. Airy (like 40 minutes further), but it's a much much better run room. Bigger (so there is more space between tables), Better run (management is great), Easy to get drinks (the waitresses come around regularly and come back with drinks in reasonable time)........

If you are on the fence between Mt. Airy and MS@PD, I'd recommend MS@PD ......it's much better.

Hi all,

I've been a long time 2+2 follower but I'm now going to try to participate in some threads here on out

I am involved with sports physical therapy and I had to travel to Wilkes barre pa for a compliance meeting at geisinger medical center

Anyways I leave there around 6 and go to pocono downs racetrack(not sure if there sulkies or the ones the jockeys ride) to play some cards

I go there expecting to play 1-2 I figure that's all they spread I walk in they have 2 30-60 hose a 4-8 Omaha8,10 1-2nl and 3 2-5s and I think a 2-4 and a 5-10nl I was very suprised

Was just wondering if any regs from here post on here do these games run regularly cuz I like to play PLO or stud

Thanks guys and good luck by the
Way the food and the dealers are way above normal

There's a thread for this room here:

MSPD Thread

What night were you there that the 4/8 O8 was running? That's not an every night game but it goes in fits and starts. I'm disappointed I missed it whenever it was going....

The rest of the spread is pretty normal...mostly 1/2 NL with a 2/5 and a must move sometimes. There's a big mixed game (20/40-30/60 HOSE) a few nights a week. A couple 2/4 LHE round out the room. Certainly the best room of the ones in the local area.

1/2 PLO goes infrequently, and straight stud you will only find 1/5, usually during the day.

P.S. The track is harness, runs from March to November.

Likely going to hang out here wednesday/thursday.

How many runners normally in the noon/evening tournaments? Do the games play any different than everywhere else?

They'll spread it if there is interest. It has gone, but infrequently.

The regular saturday tournaments do not sell out. The next $280 event which will be on a saturday most likely will sell out though. You can register for the $280 event starting the first of every month.

Al-

If demand exceeded the seats, why not increase the buy-in?? I think you would still have it maxed out until you get upwards of $500 buy-in. More juice for you, bigger prize pools, everyone wins. If you are taking pre-registration, you could even caveat it that unless you get X people to sign up, the house reserves the right to lower the buy-in & refund the difference or something of that sort.

I've played at the MSPD a handful of times since it has opened and I'll be going back this Monday. I've enjoyed profitable 1/2 sessions there and love this room. A good friend will be in the area and he wants to hit the MTTs. Anyone know the field sizes of the weekday tourneys, noon and evening? I've never bothered with the tourneys there so I have no clue how they are. Any insight would be great. Thanks in advance!

Usually we get 30-45 entrants for the weekday tournaments. Fridays we usually get around 50-60. We have lowered the buy-ins and entry-fees for all our 7pm tournaments except the 7pm Bounty on tuesdays. Fri/Sat/Sun tournaments are now $60 so we expect a huge increase in registration. The next $280 event will be held on 2/26/11 at 2pm. The last one had 120 entrants and a 1st place prize of $9,225

Love the fact that you guys lowered the MTT buy-ins across the board. I think without a doubt this will get many more casual players in that might not have wanted to take a shot at the $120's.

Any chance of you guys running a scheduled MTT Super Satellite for the $280 monthly event? I know after talking to one of the floor guys in the poker room last month that the single table satellites to the $280 event just weren't coming together. But I would tend to believe that if a scheduled MTT super satellite was announced ahead of time, it might get some numbers. Just a thought...

I was thinking the same thing. Satellites at a certain time. maybe 2pm 5pm and 9pm?

I think the same thing alon he lines of the sit n-go's. It seems like they have died off because of the wait. People would put their name on the list and it never happens, or they wait too long. Maybe if they are scheduled 3-4 times a day Then people would know when to show up for them. Especially if they are before and after the MTT's. Thats when the tourney players are there anyway

Spent the day at the sun. Played both tourneys, the Noon had 40ish (43 i think) and the 7pm had 39. Structure is ok, top 5 payed, early levels feels turboish then slows down once it broke down to 2 tables (which is around level 5-8). It was extremely had to pull myself from the 1/2nl to the play the second tournament. Cash game paid for all my buy-ins, tank of gas, food, and a little extra for next time. Love this poker room. Be back soon.

Hey guys...I live about 45 minutes from MS@PD, and was wondering...I turn 21 not to long from now, and I'm prone to be awake at ridiculous hours. I know once I'm able to I'll be making random 2-3 AM trips up there to play. Is there usually a good crowd at that time...is there even a crowd at all?
