Sweet. So anyword on the date-range getting narrowed down to a specific day?

I don't care much for harness racing at all. I've dabbled into some cal-expo betting on twinspires late at night when nothing else was running. But in general, i don't know much about it and really just throw numbers aganist the wall. The new 50 cent Monmouth Pick 5 looks great. There's good Pick 4s all over the country in thoroughbreds (Arlington, Hollywood, Churchill, Belmont, etc..)

if anybody remembers pd from the days of the old school track u can make out a little part of that still....

from what i saw i saw theres gonna be a oval shaped bar in the back or front and the room is gonna look like a section of 6 tables 6 tables and 5 if im picturing it the rite way it may resemble the trop or something similar
Would this be below the entrance area and on the same level as the race track?

I could live w/ this.

I've scrounged up 1k of live roll
[commandeered from a Vegas trip last Sept., a doubleup in my 1st-and only, so far-live NLHE game, and a recent cashout from tilt]

so outside of 1/3, 1/5, and 5/10 stud, 2/4 LHE, and mebbe a shot @ 1/2 N/L, my rollz is limited.
Be forewarned... I'm originally from Cali, I'm not afraid of a little action.
$pike

PS-Tilt's gonna keep me hoppin', wat with Ironman and mid-year bonus in July, so I'm anxious, but not foaming rabid yet.

A lot of good news in here. It will be nice if the rake is $4 and stays there. If they can keep a reasonable limit HE game going (4-8 thru 10-20) it will be very nice. I'm 10 minutes away.

The worst thing IMO is going to be the location. It will be far from the floor and won't get too much casual traffic. Granted the Borgata was the exception with the room in the original location, but I don't know of many other rooms that area so far off the beaten path. Time will tell. I'm looking forward to the opening.

In the original version of the poker rules there is no Razz the only draw game is five card draw.

There is a provision for casinos to petition for new games. The man I talked to from the PCG said they would be open to putting in new games if there were requests.

I made a formal request to the PGC after the temporary rules were released to include razz in the definition of allowable forms of 7-card stud. We'll see if swayed them to add it in the final version, which isn't out yet. If not, spike may have to follow a couple of floormen around and beg them to petition the commission to add it.

What has to happen before the room can open?
Does the Casino need any state inspections, state approvals etc. before the games start?

Lehigh Valley has 3 cities within half an hour of the Sands, that's where my vote goes.

Your always gonna need inspection from the state in a casino the state has to green lite everything before any gaming can take place...the state calls the shots

Heading over to the sun now to catch some fireworks and hang around the apron in all likelyhood I'll stick my face in and see how the room is looking maybe even snap a pic or two during the fireworks

Pretty sure the rake is holding steady at $4 while the other places seems to be 5 and up..

Lots of hotels in and around Wyoming Valley Mall/Arena area. I live in the Scranton area, so can't say I've stayed in any of the hotels... but there are quite a few.

If you jump on hotels.com or any of the other travel sites, just plug in Wilkes Barre PA as your destination city, and you'll get a ton of places in the $80-100 range per night. There are cheaper places even like Red Roof Inn, but pretty sure that's quite a dump.

Just brewed up a Google Maps link for you with the Mall as the destination area, showing hotels on the map: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=hotels...,0.066047&z=15 Drag the map down a bit, and you'll be able to see Mohegan Sun on 315 - just a few minutes drive from the Mall area.

Depends on where you are. Tower rooms seem to be better in my experience than streamside, but that was a few years ago. I heard streamside rooms have been renovated since I've been in them.

Cold rooms, TV way out of focus. I am not particular esp. about colors but the color design in the room I stay was awful. It was enough to drive you to the nearest bar just to get warm, have a decent decor around and not be bored. The nearest bar was in the Woodland.
