Stopped by last night. Bravo isn't all up and running yet. Its a nice looking room. Could use some improvements in the way they laid out the tables.

Did they get new chairs? Pretty sure they haven't been upgraded since they ran big limit games there in the 80s.

I played there yesterday (the day it opened), it seemed a bit cramped and claustrophobic to me. I think its rectangular shape with only one short side of the rectangle open is a serious design flaw that will be difficult to fix. Most the players at my table seemed to think the room felt like it was too narrow.

The basics are all there, lighting, brush stand, etc., but it has become a generic, small strip poker room. The colors and decoration are as cheap as it gets. I have always thought the Flamingo room left a lot to be desired, but I would rather play there now. All the other MGM and Caesar's offering are superior as are Green Valley and Red Rock.

Sad change to what was once the ground zero of poker for the entire world.

Chairs were all replaced in an upgrade sometime after the Moneymaker boom.

How many tables do they now have? Any Promotions going on?

12 tables. I assume there is some sort of jackpot promotion as they have had for years now, but i didn't ask what it was.

I played in the room tonight. I was at 2 tables and there was enough room that I didn't feel cramped. I didn't feel any more cramped than I did before in the old room. Perhaps on busier days it might feel more uncomfortable with the way the room was set up, but they had 4-5 tables when I was there and I doubt they will often be much busier than that.

I think the room was better before though. It was bigger, could be seen more easily from the outside which probably attracted more fish, and it was easier to go to the restroom and back. The fact the room got smaller is also a sad reminder to me of how it isn't the room it used to be.

I feel more cramped when I'm playing at Aria, Bellagio and probably Venetian.

Oh that actually looks quite cool. Might be a bit odd in the Mirage cause the whole place is starting to look a little tired.. Saying that Mirage was one of my fave hotels as it isn't as big as the others and the low ceilings made gave it a bit more atmosphere. Don't have to walk through miles of marble walkways etc to get the the rooms. I used to love the poker room as well, nice and fishy but open on three sides so could watch what was going on as well. Looks busy in those pictures but does look a little more cramped and formal that it used to be.

Going in 4 weeks time so will definitely be popping in to see if the drunks still play post 1am.

They are remodeling more than the poker room. The Main Cage is moving to what was the the other part of the poker room. That is why the remodel took so long, cages have vaults and so its not just throwing up some walls and carpet.

Ah cool, look forward to seeing that. When booking we had the choice of MGM, Caesars or Mirage but with the poker room closed Mirage was off. Might look into the possibility of swapping back to the Mirage. Decided on Caesars in the end because the moved the poker room in to the main area by the sports book.

Wanted something that was a mix between entertaining enough on long grinds but nice enough to stay. I was told the new one in MGM was a little out of the way now it's round the corner. Bellagio was a big cramped when I stayed there last and not really a big fan of the Bellagio as nice as it is and Venetian room was just too big and out of way for us.

We'll be there on the 27th... Can't wait. Poker in the north of the UK just sucks balls.

With the WSOP in town, the Mirage is going gangbusters: I stopped by last night and there were 7 tables of 1/2 NL, 2 tables of 2/5 NL and 1 table of 3/6 limit with wait list for all. I like my poker rooms with a more open feel, but a huge number of people seem happy here.

I have run into a number of former regs who are now playing at other rooms and don't like the re-model. Maybe having the experience of the prior room makes it more difficult to like the current room. The public seems to be giving it a "yes."

Last night's experience is probably due to the Colossus. WSOP had no cash games so every other room got swamped.

I played there last night Friday and it was packed. Pretty much every table was used. Honestly, I was at Caesars as well and every table was used. Come to think of it, every table was used at Planet Hollywood, and MGM as well. All due to WSOP in town.

Anyway. I liked the new room. It is smaller for sure and you can feel it. The size feels like the average room of today's poker landscape. Mirage used to be the center of poker and obviously times has changed. It feels like a smaller Caesars but a bigger Flamingo.

New chairs, new felt, same dealers (good or bad depends on you) all dealers came back but 2. Same dirty chips, same promos. I like the dealers there, very friendly, just "older" and some deal like 5 hands an hour but oh well.

If I'm not mistaken, the 2-5 game there is probably one of the best since the rake is only $3.

My experiences in the new room felt very similar to my experiences in the old room. It was the same games, same employees, same rake, same promotions, same comps, same places you can use comps, regs that looked familiar, the rest of the casino is the same, same wait times, same chips, and the room itself didn't even move to a different part of the casino.

I don't see what's so different and so much worse for someone to go from playing there regularly to playing somewhere else. I wonder if some people just got used to playing somewhere else over the past few months. Maybe that's a reason why some regs may have left.

I played there on June 1. The room was full. I was very pleased with it. I plan on going back.

I played $1/2 NL several times this past week. I like the new room much better than the old room. Some of the dealers might be a little slow, but their personalities make up for it.

Gotta get rid of those filthy piss yellow $1 chips.

I know the 2-5 game used to have a $3 rake in the old room. I don't know if that's still the case.

Wife and I stopped at Mirage last night for a first look. Played a short session of limit with her, highlighted by an 8high straight flush that bonused an xtra deuce-hundred. (Thx Steve)......table talk afterwards was that there is a good chance some promos are changing very soon, hourly hands, stuff like that. Table chat further lamented the lack of discussion about the room on this and other forums. Chat noted the complication of prohibition of MGM employees entering into discussions on social media, and how that may negatively impact the overall footprint of these rooms on formats like these.
Just doing my best here to help chat up one of my fave rooms......I like redo

hah. when i logged in and saw a bump on this thread, i knew it would be you! (i was the 9 seat)

i agree with your assessment. if you're looking to play a low limit holdem game, I found the Mirage game to be ridiculously soft with a nice crowd (fun tables) and nice dealers. the $2/hour comp is fantastic as well.

It was good playing with you, mom ami......by the way, nice raise on the last hand I played with you. I mucked pre w/56 off.....flop 2-4-8, of course the 3 turned. Would have been another $80+ pot.....the way I was running there is no hand I should have bailed on.
