I'm trying to play more poker in casinos, but I live in an area where the closest one is a 4 hour drive. Frontier has this thing where you can get unlimited flights from September to February for $299 (as long as you don't have any bags and don't care where you sit etc.). I'm trying to figure out if it would be feasible to get on a flight, take a Lyft/Uber to a poker room, play a session, then take a Lyft/Uber back to the airport to fly home.

What poker rooms in the US or Canada are close to airports? If you have taken a Lyft/Uber from the airport to that poker room, what would you say is the average cost?

I think you are asking the wrong question. How much time are you going to spend traveling to the airport, waiting for your flight, the flight time itself and then getting to the poker room? The quickest I could do it is about 3 hours and I live about a 5 minute drive from the terminal of the airport and a short flight from some major poker centers.

I suspect when the smoke clears, you'll find yourself spending nearly 4 hours commuting to the poker room.

That's a fair point.

I do think there is some advantage here in that I won't have to fly the plane, so I could use that time for sleep. I've got TSA precheck and live close to an airport, it takes me about 40 minutes to go from my front door to the airport gate.
I'd also have access to a greater variety of poker rooms.

i like saving money as much as anyone. and i definitely take it too far sometimes. but you don't want to skimp on dentists and doctors. and you don't want to fly frontier.

Rivers is minutes from O’Hare. The Hyatt Rosemont across the street has a shuttle.

Fly to Dallas and play at TCH Las Colinas. It's just minutes from airport.

This seems like a bad plan to me, but if you're near the western US, Hollywood Park Casino is very close to LAX, and Artichoke Joe's is very close to SFO. Several poker rooms are very close to LAS.

In Vancouver there is a poker room one skytrain stop from the airport (which has a station itself) River Rock Casino. Then the better casino downtown is just a 25 minute ride away on that same train, and the ride is cheap (under $10 I think)

I dont like flying or sitting in a confined spacelike that. So Id prefer to do something other than poker if travelling. Wont it sux really bad if you get bad luck and then have to do all that rigmarole to get back home to sleep?

Low enough stakes that I would consider flying Frontier. I'm not sure I have the live sample size to claim I win at any stakes. I'm not trying to go pro or anything, but live NLHE up to 2/3 has been going well when I get the opportunity to play and I'm trying to get more hours in to improve my game.

Just found out Frontier doesn't fly to Canada, which sucks because Vancouver seems like a city I'd enjoy in addition to playing poker.

Magic City Casino is a 5 minute Uber from Miami Airport. The Hollywood Hard Rock is a 10 minute Uber from Ft Lauderdale Airport. And the entire Las Vegas Strip is a 10 minute Uber from the airport, with the MGM and Aria probably being the closest.
