$200-$1000 but the average buy-in I see is more like $500. A lot of players buy in for $300-$400 and the players waiting for bigger games are typically the ones buying for max.

Hi, help appreciated. Anyone knows how the poker comp dollar works here. We just played here for two days, but show zero MGM points when checking out hotel room. Do we need to ask the poker room to transfer the earned poker point to MGM account so we can use?

We used to play in Borgata which the poker points are the same as the MGM points. Borgata pays $2 comp dollars an hour for 2-5. How about here?

Btw, it is a nice casino and poker room, and so is the hotel room.

Last time I played there it was $2 an hour and yes, you have to ask in the poker room to have the points moved over.

I have only played there once and it has been a long time, but from what I recall poker comps can only be used in the poker room.

For whatever reason, nearly all of the MGM poker rooms have their comps kept separate from the rest of your MLife points. Borgata is an exception to this, probably because MGM utilized Borgata's system that was already in place when MGM purchased it.

Thanks very much to both for the quick post. I really appreciate it. Good luck on poker.

Another concern I have is how do they track the play to offer hotel rooms? We always have comp any date (even New Year eve) in Borgata with only poker play. If MGM Springfield offers comp, we actually will switch to here. It is slightly closer for us and the action is good, there are 5-10 tables on both of the week nights I played (I played 2-5 only). Most players are very good, but there is still some below average players.

Look into getting a "poker rate" directly from the poker supervisor. Since the poker hours and comps aren't in the general system, this will be the only way anyone with knowledge will access your poker history.
Most places have a poker rate- I have no idea if MGMS has or not.

Just want to give everyone clear information: I had comp rooms at MGM Springfield for the two days I stayed (I could get three days), even I never been to MGM Springfield. That is solely for my poker only play in Borgata. I get the same comp room in MGM National Harbor too. However I am just afraid they dont count my points/tier points at Springfield or National Harbor, and if I play in MGM instead of Borgata, then I might end up with no comp rooms in any casino (I wont never pay for the $300 casino room).

MGM really needs to fix its poker point/comp system to be the same as Borgata, otherwise we would just have to stick with Borgata only.

They don’t count poker hour comps to their other table/slots comps. It’s been explained to me from floor/dealers/other players that this is how it’s done there.

Any comps earned from playing poker are only redeemable for food at the table or you can ask the floor to put a certain amount on your card to use at the food court or restaurants. Points earned from poker in no way affect your hotel offers - as I’ve been told. Also can’t use the points to buy anything other than food.

So we don't get comp room by playing poker in MGM Springfield. Anyone ever get comp room here with poker play here?

If the above is true, I don't see how Springfield can has my (our) business again.

I don't really care if the comp can only be used with food, but not toward resort fee and tax (which Borgata can). It is only $20 a day. It is just trouble to use. The comp hotel room is the big expense.

Anyone want to play a mixed game soon? Maybe have it go weekly? Would prefer bigger stakes but as long as it's 15/30ish+ I'd be happy to start it with whoever for fun.

MGM Springfield is not doing so well.

I would not want to be the bank holding the mortgage.

The heyday of Casinos was 20 years ago.

The disappointing December 2019 numbers follow gross gambling revenue of just $19.9 million in November, which at the time was the second-lowest monthly total since the casino’s first full month of operation in September 2018.

They sure misread the market. The place is always packed on weekends when I've gone. The parking lot and valet were both at full capacity on Saturday and I had to park elsewhere.
They have way more slot revenue than table revenue, while Encore is the exact opposite. Weird.

Just no high rollers going to "the ghetto" I'd guess. Whenever I go, I notice a higher ratio of "socializers" just chatting, drinking, eating, railing etc than I am accustomed to at casinos.
I'm guessing that their foot traffic is much higher than the gaming revenue would suggest.

No one interested in a mix game? I'll give a % freeroll back on losses to someone if I am beating them if they are willing to start it hu with me.

The only reason to go to springfield is for six flags and then its a hike. Also, hangers on aren't spending money. The springfield crowd mixed with foxwoods degens just sounds like a horrible experience.

This. Nothing at that casino worth driving two hours for. Even if I lived halfway between them and Encore (or even slightly closer to Springfield) I'd probably still choose Encore, Foxwoods, or Mohegan.

There's always the MUG with Andrew Neeme and Brad Owen in a month - maybe that will be the jumpstart the casino needs.....

The MUG is 2/18 and 2/19. Usually when they do two days they have cash the first day and a tourney the second, though I'm not sure if that's the plan here. Once the dates get closer one or both will reveal specific details in their vlogs.
