I see it. Looks like its the director from National Harbor making those comments, same difference though.

That argument is not unlike an argument for a required punch in the face before taking a seat. "Won't be the brightest fellas you sit down with, will it pal? I mean, what numbskull agrees to be punched in the head?"

I honestly don't mind the $2 JP drop, as that money is paid back to the players. I hate BBJP, as that really typically removes money from the poker economy and I'm not sure how much the BBJP improves traffic. But High Hand or even better, hot seat type promotions seem pretty great for quite a few reasons and I'll happily pay the extra promo drop for them.

I know this is a running joke from when Puck made his insinuation that simply by charging higher rake in a yet to be established room the games would be better....but it really isn't that difficult to understand this concept.

The best games, by far, that I play in are in CA and FL which have the highest rake due to there being few if any nits in the game concerned about leatherassing it for 8 hours to earn points. The worst games, by far, that I play in are in Vegas and Mohegan Sun, which have the lowest rake, and in the case of the latter have half the table opening discussing their points and how many hours they need to play that day for an award, etc etc. Small sample and all but there is a ton more action at MGM than in the CT rooms and who would have ever thought it.....nobody is sitting there for points. Hmmmm

Do you know what % of the drop MGM is taking for an “administrative fee”

Would you prefer having your arm rubbed gently by the player to your right who reads the newspaper in between folds while paying 4+1 or getting punched in the face by the guy who announces he brought 2k and is here to gambol while you pay 5+2 that takes 2 on the flop?

Which game do you feel is more profitable?

Maybe too many variables to calculate. How gentle is the rub, any risk of abrasion? Does he smell like dust and coffee? How good is the punchers right hook? What is the probability of a dodge? Have I met my health insurance deductible for the year?

I can tell you which game sounds like more fun, and which game (variables related to physical injury aside) I would predict to be more profitable.

I only found this:
https://massgaming.com/wp-content/up...er-6-20-18.pdf

Section 19 on BBJP does not explicitly state anything about a house cut, but does go at length to describe how funds should be kept separate and ensures that all funds are transferred to players if/when BBJP ends or is restructured.

I'd love some clarification on this.

100% of all BBJ and promo funds collected are returned to the players. There is no administrative fee.

There is a thread on their twitter where management has clarified that the higher rake structure is ACTUALLY BETTER! This was after someone complained about the rake being unbeatable. Damn, it turns out DNegs was right all along!
Is Puck working for MGM since Cheers folded???

I have zero first-hand experience with Springfield.

I'm not saying I'll never play in the room, but it's a bit more than twice the distance from me as the CT rooms and 6x farther than Twin River.

Encore Boston Harbor will be closer to me, and tbh, why would I go to Springfield when I can go to Boston?

Played there early evening. Seemed fine. Was a pleasant atmosphere, floor, dealers, players. Seats were comfortable. Games were good. Will go back.
Was not stabbed.

I went back again today for my 2nd visit. Same report as last week. Redic easy 1/2 game, fun players, comfy chairs, good food. Hit the promo twice-Bingo!

This might be the most oddly specific question, but does anyone know if the garage accommodates vehicles over 6'10? That seems to be the cap for most garages... Is there another lot for tall vehicles to park?

They have a surface parking lot for oversized vehicles. You can access it via Columbus ave.

My hotel is about mile down the road from the casino. I would walk down the Main Street where all the nice restaurants are and probably stop for lunch. I'll probably be drinking a little so my plan is to walk there during the day and take Uber back at night. After reading some of the posts in this thread I'm starting to second guess this plan. However, I've been all over the world so I'm not the kind of person who worries about these types of things. I think I'll take my chances.
