I'm planning on coming Saturday to play an event in the ongoing tournament series. I heard someone mention that the series is being held in the ballroom, and not the main poker room. Can someone advise where this is, and let me know where registration occurs? Thanks in advance.

Exit the main casino floor at the end opposite from where the poker room and garage is. As you exit into the main lobby (Bellagio cafe to your left), go left to the escalator which will take you up to the ballroom.

Can anyone help me with they key differences between National Harbor and Maryland Live?

I assume I can play 2/5 or 5/10 NL at either but what kind of omaha and mixed games run at both rooms?

Appreciated.

2-5 at both. 5-10 daily at mgm, only certain days at Live (not sure which but more likely weekends from my observations). If you are talking limit games in terms of mix, MGM has 20-40 mix a couple days a week, Live has 10-20 Big O half kill certain days (other days it is 20-40 no kill). For PLO it’s all five card, both places have a lot of 1-2 five card (MGM has a five dollar bring in, Live has a five dollar button straddle every hand). Both places have 5-5 and higher sometimes

How is the 1/3? Fishy? How is action on week nights?

Generally always decent to very good but you sometimes need to table change if you get on a no action table which does happen. Very few truly tough players who will put you to the test (though there are sometimes bad loos aggressive players).

Very fishy. Occasionally get a snug table but for the most part it is deep and splashy

I don't play nearly as much as I used to - but a lot of the time i've gone up the waitlists have been insane. They will even freeze the lists for hours on friday/saterday night around 11pm, so I won't even go anymore if I see the list is long.

If you don't get up there during the day, there is no point in going.

Not really sure what the issue is, but I pretty much gave up on going this week because everytime I looked the wait was really long.

Going to DC for work a few times this year, but unlikely to have a car most trips.

How easy is it to pick up an Uber at the casino late night weekdays?

Witnessed a strange hand and terrible ruling by supervisor couple of days ago. Though I've not been impressed by this particular sup in the past so am not surprised.

2/5 Game. Button is in 4 seat. 5 seat just returned to table and has a missed blind button, so he decides to post 7 (BB + SB) to "buy the button". Seat 6 puts out a green chip. Dealer does not say anything. I'm in seat 2 and thought seat 6 limped. Folds around to seat 3 who puts out a green chip (he only has green, no red). Folds to seat 5 who mucks his hand. Dealer pulls in seat 7 and seat 3 green chips and gives them each back 20 in change.

Flop comes out all hearts. Seat 6 check. Seat 3 bets 20. Seat 6 then says "why is there only 17 in the pot, I raised to 25 preflop". Dealer says he never heard that, thought it was a limp which is why he made change. Seat 3 says I never heard him say raise, I only called the 5 dollar BB. Seat 6, I definitely said raise. Seat 5 chimes in "yes he said raise, which is why I folded preflop. I never would have folded not facing a raise after posting 7." Seat 3, "I just called preflop, seat 6 checked flop and I am now betting this flop."

Seat 6 insisting it was 25 preflop and seat 6 backing him up. So dealer calls floor who listens to story, then makes his ruling: There was a raise to 25 preflop, so action backs up to preflop, the flop will get shuffled back into the deck and seat 3 gets to decide if he wants to call 25 preflop or not.

Awful.

It’s way too late if it happened as you described. If he didn’t speak up after he got change he can’t now say wait I raised once the flop is out. Also if the dealer never announced raise and he didn’t say anything then. So he had two chances to clarify and didn’t. Too bad for him he just called preflop.

It's easy, they have a dedicated Uber zone over by the main hotel lobby entrance

Got here at 8:00pm today and still waiting…. :/ And I called ahead and I have a 40 minute drive…bleh. Wish I went to live, it’s the same distance from my place.

Visiting MGM NH for the first time in a few years this week. PLEASE tell me in the year 2023 they still don’t have that absurd comp system in place where you have to go to the desk, ask them to add funds to your card, separate system for Shake Shack, etc.

You’ve got to be kidding me. Three years ago the room manager was on here saying “we are working on it” in regards to that offensive comp system. Really solid work MGM.

I try not to fault the room and poker staff for this. I think it’s more likely a MGMNH boss issue that just doesn’t give a damn.

I think you’re right. Still mind boggling and a slap in the face to players. It’s such an easy fix. Makes me want to drive on past and play at Live.

Just a heads up, next couple days MGM is replacing carpets so half the room will be out of commission. Expect extended wait periods.
