There's something about this game that tilts people the wrong way when money's involved. You really need to have your head screwed on properly to keep your cool while losing money to other people in poker, for both recs AND for pros. It probably has something to do with losing to another player rather than the house, since I've never seen anyone go on tilt for losing in BJ (from my experience as a bj dealer and mgr back in the day).
i've seen plenty of blackjack tilt.

i don't even know who you guys are talking about but lol@ people saying he's a known angle shooter but the cards ended up in his pocket by accident. cards don't end up in anyone's cards by accident and you don't give angling scum the benefit of the doubt.

MD Live banned him. Unless we’ve been totally misinformed, I guess MGM isn’t living up to the same ethical standards. Are they putting the bottom line ahead of maintaining the integrity of the game—which they implicitly promise us in hosting poker? Perhaps. If so, too bad. I’ve been playing at Live lately anyway. No scum here that I’m aware of.

Oh there are a couple, but they play it off soooo well. Like making big bets out of turn to influence action, using smaller chips to short the pot, etc. Ive witnessed a bit since post COVID reopening.

The bet out of turn is easy to navigate and make them pay. The other little angles are annoying and need to be called out every time.

Is this the guy who looks at people's cards? Yeah pretty much no reg has anything good to say about him...

Was going to post a link to a Cassavetes' movie but guess that would be against regs...

It's fri (lucky table) 11:15am and there's an empty table (no players/chips) with a dealer looking bored.

check it down?! chop chop!

For those questioning, yes this character has been banned from MD Live, Horseshoe Poker and MGM Poker Rooms all within the last ~2 years at different times. The person also is an angle shooter at the bacc table (snatches losing bets back) but loses so much at the tables that places tolerate him. He is currently still banned from Live's poker room.

I can imagine edge cases where cards end up in my pocket by accident, although it is necessarily unlikely.

So as you folks know we have privacy rules in this forum. I've been letting the current discussion go, because I think it's important to discuss what/why MGM's policy is regarding players like him. I feel that's been sufficiently done, so unless someone has a direct question for Johnny to answer regarding this, let's stop gossiping about other people now. Thanks.

Direct question - regarding all of the above posts - is such a player, who is currently banned from other properties and who may have been previously banned at MGM NH, is that player now allowed back at MGM NH? If they are, why?

I'd like to know too. Edited to conform to Lattimer's post.

I can’t speak to other properties and issues there. I also cannot speak about a specific patron and any issues we have had with them. I stand by any decisions we have made to ban/not ban players. We typically ban for a day, then a week, then a month, then a year or perma ban....

Can you please perma ban him the next time he has an incident? Enuff is enuff!!!! I don’t feel comfortable knowing MGM enable cheaters that other casinos won’t tolerate. Live banned him for much less then stealing cards.

Saw that too, has to be a mistake. The calendar also says something different, so who knows!

Recently moved to Virginia from Jersey and glad to see there are some poker rooms reopening.

I’m about two hours from DC and it seems like MGM is the closest room to me. I checked Room prices and they’re pretty intense - over $350-$450 for a Friday night.

Can anyone fill me in on the area around MGM - what is parking like, are there more affordable rooms that are close, maybe even walkable? Anything else I should consider for my first trip?

Look up rooms in Alexandria Virginia it's less than 10 minutes away by car there are several hotels and rooms are very affordable.

Thanks all for the tips.

I'd be lying if I said I never slept in my car in a casino parking lot. (Lookin at you, Borgata) Fortunately, those days are behind me.

Since parking's free, I'll just find a place nearby.
