Think we need 8 more commits and a start time.

There is a portion of the players who prefer to keep their poker hours and degenerate games hours separate. Poker will kill ones theoretical. So if your coming solution merges those, not everyone will think it is positive.

Have not been. But based on what I have seen here, I must agree. Here, here for JG.

IME, people who fall into this category just don't swipe in for poker.

I agree that is what they are likely to start doing. In fact I would rec it for them. But that doesn't mean they will like no longer getting their poker comps. Also I know of one location who recently started claiming they won't pay a player their BBJP if they are not swiped in. While I personally don't believe that would hold up legally (due to how and when they decided to start not because there isn't a way they could do it) I would not want to bet five figures on it.

Food service is simply a debacle. I'm just visiting but if I was a local I would not be back until it's fixed. Otherwise nice room, but missing on some must have blocking and tackling type issues. It's not like MGM doesn't know how.

Standard business analogy for all the little basics. Think of a hospital without reliable electricity. Not what you think about for your medical care, but essential for the overall function.

Completely agree, I waited an hour and a half and asked 3 different floors to send a food runner. When one finally came over he said he was going to get a menu and never came back, that's not too big a deal since last time he messed up my order. I see a bunch of food runners on the other side of the room and then the floor tells me that they are short handed tonight. Terrible service tonight.

Edit: Terrible service by the floor and food runners, the dealers have all been great

Posted a photo of the parking map on FB. The guesses as to what it was included "escape room puzzle", "ouiji board" and "eye test".

Saw that on the way out but I was too light headed from starvation to care.

Most dealers were at least OK. But bad was very bad.

Floors seemed frenetic. Certainly trying and working hard. Sure the system will click with time and some infrastructure improvements. The back workstations are a joke. Seen bigger phone booths.

Poker itself was good. I'd put the challenges on the lack of support and planning from the casino as a whole.

On The plus side, the dinner time clientele is fantastic. Lots of dressed up folks looking good by the restaurants and casino area.

Johnny,

There seems to be continuing confusion regarding transfers. I asked two different floors and one said he will help but never came back & other by podium said I needed to go to brush.

Now just asked a 3rd floor and finally worked. But need a clear and consistent system.

Thanks for listening and for the numerous improvements!

As someone posted before, all supervisors at MGM should be reading and following this thread! It's like JG can have a staff meeting without even having people from all the different shifts show up!

The clear and consistent system that works effectively in every poker room in the world, (that I know of) is to walk up to the check-in desk and ask to be put on a list for transfer.

Sure it may be a slight inconvenience, (even more so if you are disabled obv.) but the casino has been only open for a few weeks. The poker room is probably above streamline capacity more often than not. A little motivation goes a long way to be a win-win for everyone.

Well I think Johnny was speaking historically, and yes they are going to touch the pot anyway, I think in home games/ underground there are more chances for mischief (oh I took the rake on the flop, and now I'm taking it again on the turn...my bad) but at a a casino this isn't really a concern.

while I can see Johnnys point about it being a delicate balance regarding not helping out a player (an c'mon guys the difference between 30 and 35 bucks is going to effect how often one calls?), and running an efficient game. I also agree with above posters that having dealers cleaning up stacks, especially in lower-limit games, is helpful.

Damn, family just got into town. Would love to play though I suspect 10/20 intimidates the causal player a little more than a pink chip or 8/16 game would... Good luck all.

Can we do something about the new dealers sitting down, and having to count all the $$$ and the well? Some of them take upwards of 3 minutes to count it all.

I think a nice fix would be to have people buy their first buy in at the cage, so the well doesn't get flooded with cash, and getting rid of the blue chips, as some of the dealers take a while to count those.

I was sitting next to another player today and he was complaining about it too, as it's annoying when you want to see hands.

Sigh, a day to early for the 10/20 game.

Most places I've played are pretty aggressive at keeping cash out of the rack.--convert to chips once per down, try not to leave cash for the next dealer. Makes the count faster.
