Pretty sure using the poker room bathrooms has made us all immune to Coronavirus, so there's nothing to worry about.

I'm on hiatus for a while. I am guessing the casino will close in the not-distant future, but I'm an alarmist.

I think people are underestimating just how much casinos love making money.

As an avowed degenerate I think I can speak for the community when I say that unless the sun is imploding and we have minutes to live, don't you dare close the casino. You do not want us on the streets with time on our hands. Think rapid societal collapse, and not in a fun way.

Part of making money includes brand/reputation management. Having an employee become infected (100% inevitable) and deciding to stay in business when they likely have infected other employees/patrons/chips/surfaces would be incredibly irresponsible. MGM more than anyone can't afford another PR crisis at the moment. Not to mention the state/city government could easily mandate it and ban gatherings of 1,000+ people at any second like has already started to happen in other cities. It's coming.

lol you couldn't be more wrong about the Coronavirus, but I think you're right about the games getting good due to only degens remaining.

What is the point of cleaning the chips? Unless you plan on never winning a pot, you’ll come in contact with chips that other players have handled. The best way to protect yourself is to wash your hands thoroughly when you leave the table and while you are playing never touch your face (nearly impossible for most people).

Well if this announcement shutters MGM, last night was gonna be my last night there anyway. Every table had someone coughing or sneezing or blowing their nose. It was a human petri dish in there. I left early. I felt bad for the staff most of all; they didn't have a choice.

Apparently, you have no idea how true this statement is.

As long as he remembers that his decisions impact everyone. If we all work on social distancing now, we can keep this thing more under control, contain infections, and, most importantly, prevent our healthcare system from collapsing.

Also, just because he's a young guy and at low risk of a fatal infection (though not guaranteed), if he does get infected and comes into contact with higher-risk individuals (parents, grandparents, immunocompromised people in general), he could infect and potentially kill them.

So it's not just his life he's putting at risk. Stay home.

MGM isn't doing anything to prevent sick people from entering its doors. (And all the sanitary supplies at the front podium last night were hidden under the counter top for some reason...?)

The only reason there are no cases is because we aren’t able to test anyone. We have only tested 11k people. The true number of infected people is impossible to know.
