Planned a trip to MGM National Harbor for Labor Day (8/31 - 9/3) - first time visiting the DC Area. Will plan on visiting museums and monuments.

The room was comped based off my last Vegas trip's play.

Few questions -
Are the comps for food/etc here based off play (like Borgata) or should I just go straight to the host office and see what they can offer me (like Vegas)?

I play both table games and poker - any tips for poker? From what I hear, there is usually an hour long wait...

What tournaments will be running while I am visiting?

Unless you are trying to play at absolute peak times, you can usually get a seat immediately or under 10 mins if you are playing 1/3 or 2/5.

I would check Bravo for what tournaments will be running.

Hope you enjoy your trip. We complain a lot on here but it’s a very nice room and overall a pretty decent casino. Not quite Borgota, but not bad.

JG, I played all day today and the Wi- Fi worked very well for me...

Floor person knowingly allowed an ineligible table (only three players, hadn't started playing yet) into the 10:15 drawing this morning. I only know this because the dealer and floor were having the conversation about the table's ineligibility across the room from each other for everyone to hear. I don't care that much, but it's not a good look. There would have been some pissed off customers if that table won.

have seen this/also purposeful delays a (although it is rare) but yeah its not fair

Also, I waited to play yesterday to see how the wifi was. Was working pretty well for me, as it was throughout the week. A very welcome upgrade.

Spoke too soon. Wifi wasn't working both on Sunday and yesterday when I played.

How are the $2 per hour comps awarded? Whole hour increments, or hours plus minutes? For example, if I play for 2.5 hrs on day 1 and 2.5 hrs on day 2, do I receive $8 or $10 in comps?

What are peoples general thoughts on two guys sitting next to each other playing out of the same bankroll?

Played with these guys at 1-2 five card a few times now. Always soft playing each other - which is...fine. But whenever one busts out, they pass money to each other under the table. Chips out of pocket, cash out of pocket or one guy passes the other his ATM card, guy goes to the ATM right near the table, comes back, hands him the card back. I want to be clear from what I've seen - its never money off the table.

I know its not against any rules, just always feels off to me.

Anyone thats played in the room when they are playing has heard them. F bombs every other word, screaming at the top of their lungs. Dealers and floors wont say anything to them bc they all know them. That gets to me more than the money thing. I'm a younger guy so I'm not some old fart saying people shouldnt enjoy themselves when they are playing - but I actually *have* to wear headphones when I play with them. Then once they have a handful of drinks - screaming at the other players that they arent playing enough hands.

FWIW - wifi has been OK this week. Didnt have any issues disconnecting but it definitely is still slow. Starting to wonder if MGM increased the pipe at all or if they just added antennas to get to the same bad bandwidth.
