The people that leave the table make about $10 an hour on top of what ever they make from playing poker. Most of them are probably losing players which is why they leave the table with a $100 stack. Just divide how many tables are running by how much you make from the promo to get the hourly. That’s why they leave. They are just abusing the promo which is fine for me because I don’t mind playing short handed and getting half rake but I think it’s a little ridiculous to abuse a promo that is meant to get people in the door to get games running. It isn’t a huge deal at 2/5 which is what I normally play but at 1/3 it’s a pretty big problem.

Most of the regs are funding the promo anyways but it is what it is.

I hate high hand promos as it favors limit games and collusion but I still think something should be done to avoid people leaving the games for a long period of time. The floor shouldn’t have to be bothered with picking up people and dealing with a bunch of bagged chips. They have other things to do. I like the promo but it’s getting abused.

If they are happy with it done by me but I think it could be fixed especially if the end goal is to make the most rake.

Less people I have to compete with for the promotion, that aren't even playing, but just walking around the room which could result in maybe 1 or 2 less tables.

It's a pain to pick up people after 30 - 45 minutes. Most people get at least 2 - 3 dealer downs before being picked up. You need to give people time to go eat. But some people are abusing the system.

First if there is no list, then picking them up does not make sense. Second the first two to leave probably have at least 45 minutes. But the third or fourth should have a third man walking button and only half like 15 minutes or maybe less.

I can’t speak for NH specifically but that is how it works many places.

Please Fix the WiFi. How hard can it be?
I'll give you a hint. Its a problem with the DHCP server. If you use a static IP it works and keeps the connection. The problem is that if that IP is in use later it wont work and you have to keep changing it manually.

I prefer random drawings over high hands for not affecting play reasons.

It's easy enough to fix it though.
First stop by pre-announcing the drawing. All the "make sure you're swiped in the drawing is coming" just enables the wandering.
Second make the drawing at a random time rather than always at 15 after the hour.
For bonus points - have a 2nd drawing in the same hour randomly.

Sure some grinders who don't wander around will miss an occasional drawing because they got up to pee or grab a bite/smoke but overall I think it'd be nbd compared to encouraging more butts in seats for longer times.

I love this. You can also just say that if someone has been up for fewer than 5 minutes (and leaves chips on the table) they can get whatever they would have won from the drawing.

I wonder how many years it will take to accomplish this task.

Somewhere after the self serve comp kiosk comes to the room. Made me laugh last week bc I asked two floors to put a comp on my card for the sushi place. Neither guy knew how to do it. Had to go to the back desk to have a 3rd guy help out. Which is fine, I'm so used to it now, its not a huge deal. But it sure would be nice to go over to the wall of kiosks - seriously there have to be a half dozen different kiosks/machines on that wall - and do it yourself. Swipe card, pick $ amount, pick restaurant, re-swipe card.

But the room will have 5 bar wifi before that happens...

Seems like a lot of work to determine who hasn’t been sitting out for more than 5 minutes, on 40 something tables.

Anyway, I doubt management mind the players sitting out as long as their chips are on the table and keeping the tables going and rake is continuously dropped.

If you really want to fight against the promo bums, start sitting out (but remain on the table) when they all get up right after the drawing so that the game will come to a halt for being too short. Once rake stops being dropped, management will care and do something about it. Maybe they will start picking those bums’ chips up.

You’re eligible unless you’ve missed a blind. Easy fix. This should already be the rule.

I’m not sure what you mean. What if they come back in right before the drawing and post their missed blinds? And then they sit out again after the drawing?

Yea this isn't the issue. It's those who walk for 50 minutes after each drawing. Drawings every 15, 20, or even 30 min is much better than hourly. Works at Live and horseshoe.

I'm pretty sure they can figure out a way to have a single drawing every hour but at a random time so that players don't know when it's coming.

Alerting people 30 sec to a minute before the drawing would be nice, though; or treating it like the BBJ where you're eligible if you don't miss a blind.

This is a bit of a red herring. If they only want to give out $900 or $1,000 an hour ($100 for all seats at a lucky table), then pick three hot seats from eligible tables every 20 mins for $100 each. So basically they can be creative and avoid ridiculous amounts if that is the concern.

I’m just responding to the first part of your post in regards to the “5 minutes” This is easier and more logical, imo, than both a “5 minute” rule and the current rule

That wasn’t the issue I was addressing. If you want to stop the walking, you have to change the way the promo is run.

We have service coming at 5AM Tuesday morning to install 6 antennas in the poker room. This problem was diagnosed about a month ago. We should see a dramatic increase in performance after the install.
