In my bowling league tonight, I heard a guy talking about how MGM was "garbage" and "racist" for kicking him out of the poker room for "no reason". I was eavesdropping admittedly, but this was definitely a seat jumper. Awesome F'N job Johnny!! Kudos to you for dropping the hammer on fools.

When this room was opened one of the issues that was used as a selling point was the number of years of experience all the supervisors and management had in running a poker room.

Two years into this operation and we are still trying to figure out how to seat players at the poker table.

Let's get real. This is not good.

It may be semantics, but I would argue that we are trying to find a way tonseat players, while at the same time not ejecting a large portion of the player Bearse here that just doesn’t care for rules...

I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, Johnny, but there it is: an open admission that you’d rather please intentional seat-stealers than your customers who have integrity.

Now that it’s been put out there like that, I’m going to think long and hard about relocating where I can play poker in a room that cares about treating their players fairly, a room that doesn’t force players to make a choice between cheating like everyone else or getting screwed over by those who do.

Really? Thats your takeaway from this thread, and a manager that does nothing except be responsive to suggestions, and engage and try to improve things for snieveling holier than thou complainers?

Played on 20+ rooms, never seen one with seat cards. Seem only a few with rampant seat jumping. It'll get solved. And yea it would be good not to alienate regular customers and get them to conform rather than lose a steady base.

Most rooms/managers wont engage on a forum or in person. Only the best do.

Keep the faith Johnny / keep up the good work.

What good is forum engagement worth in and of itself, when the decisions made at the end of the day are none the better for it? You guys are always praising Johnny simply for speaking to us, even though most of what he posts is designed to be purposefully vague and kick the can further down the road (i.e. get us to shut up about it) rather than solve the issue.

Call me crazy, but I’d rather have a room that’s run smoothly and fairly, but where we don’t get to talk to its manager on a poker forum, than the opposite, which is what we have now.

Afaic, anyone who’s satisfied with this “we don’t want to piss off the scumbags” policy is probably a scumbag themselves.

I would put the seat changing issue on the back burner through the weekend and see if the changes have the desired effect, if not list the problems next week.

On another note, anyone want to play some short-deck?

Thanks for that. Be sure to let me know when things improve to your liking.

Can we please do something about these god awful shot clock blocks that are added to the tables? I understand they are used in a tournament but they are impeding flow of regular cash games. If you want to run a shot clock, an ipad is cheaper and more easily managed. Cards constantly keep going under the railing, table 12 or 13 has exposed wiring in one of them and certain regualrs have started hiding big chips behind them as a form of an angle.
Secondly, there is a 2/5 reg who keep messing with peoples chips. He came to my table last night and literally messed with half the tables chips and has been doing so every time i have played with him. No warnings from the floor or dealers. He could easily be palming chips and this is a really bad look for new players who dont know better.

What did the floor say when you called him/her over to explain the situation or talk to him/her away from the table if you were concerned about anonymity?

These will be here for 1 year at a minimum. We are doing a demo for the vendor. We will make a determination on whether we will continue with them after the 1st year.

Hi Johnny, I think you’re doing a good job for the most part addressing the players’ concerns. For the seat stealing issue you did erect 2 huge signs and attempt to implement the players card’s solution. We’ll just have to wait and see if that alleviates the problem before going the extreme seat cards route. I notice some of the posters here are keyboard warriors who will always find something to whine about. I have an inkling that those are the same toxic nits who whine all day at the tables, contribute nothing, and only spread misery. They exist in every room and are always well loved by players and staff. I do hope the MGM remain persistent in finding solutions to problems, but I also hope you don’t let those nits undermine the good work you’ve been doing so far!

Good luck trying to get him banned. Curious if its the same reg that was already caught stealing a black chip before @ mdl. He still plays everyday.

In short, good luck finding any casino that places rule abiders ahead of scumbags. Scum is afterall the majority in any gambling establishment.

Not sure if you are aware, but no casino I have ever been to, worked for, etc. bans players for things they allegedly did or didn’t do on another property outside their company. No one gets placed anywhere. If you break the rules, you pay the consequences. Casinos don’t catch 100% of the rulebreakers, but the ones that are caught typically get a temp- or permaban.

They said they would look into it and walked away. Dude did it again tonight. Since the floor and dealers don't want to protect my money it seems like i might have to.

If you want to fix the seat jumping problem you need to get the dealers involved in enforcing the rules or it’s never going to work. The floor seating the players and holding the dealers accountable is also important.

I see that you stated the time and location to Johnny as requested, but please also PM him the name of the floorperson if you remember it.

Johnny - I noticed on Hendon Mob that you posted the results from almost all of the Sunday tournaments. However, for the $50K tourney held on May 6 of this year you only listed the winner.

Any chance you can send the the full list of folks who cashed in that tourney in to Hendon Mob? Many thanks!

Johnny: Can comps earned in the poker room be used at any MGM resort or just at National Harbor?

I haven't played it but discussed yesterday with someone who had. Blinds 5/5 no ante. Buy in 500-2500 although the bravo list yesterday showed minimum 600. Straight beats 3 of a kind. That's all I got.

We can spread the game with any blind/ante structure we need. My understanding is that in tournaments, it is spread with an ante from every plyer, with a second ante from the button where action starts on the first player clockwise from the button. A forward moving button is also used.
