No, I know when the satellites are being run- I’m asking when the *actual* Borgata Winter Open Main Event is - searching online I only find information from 2018's event.

Also, need confirmation on the hotel deal.

Thanks!

I contacted BorgataPoker, and I received confirmation that the main event runs Sunday, January 27 through Friday, February 1. Sunday is day 1A, Monday is day 1B.

Also, it would be great if the line at the bottom of the satellite’s structure sheet would say Fridays through a certain date, instead of Fridays in October or Fridays in November.

Hate to bring the topic up again but I'm really surprised that everyone sitting on the tables closest to Snacks is seemingly ok with the smell. Only had a few dealers mention the smell this weekend- my usual course of action is to request a different table if placed there but I stuck it out a bit longer because it was busy with a list when I arrived and the table ended up being pretty good. However, my clothes and jacket from that day smell terrible. I used to think the fragrance that was being pumped in downstairs was way too strong but would now take that in a heartbeat over the smoky food odors in my clothes.

Johnny can we talk about the "no talking during about the hand even if the players are heads up" rule? I get it at 1/3 where the hands take long enough as it is. But at 2/5 and up enforcement of the rule ruins a very fun aspect of the game. Furthermore it causes undue stress on your dealers because they have to enforce a rule no one likes or risk getting in trouble with the floor.

Multiple times I've been at a table that was having fun and the game was good and enforcement of this rule has been a downer.

My proposed solution would be to officially, but without making any public announcement, exclude 2/5 and up from the rule.

Love playing MGM and I hope if anyone agrees with me about this rule they will speak up!

I played in the raised area this weekend for about eight hours and there was zero odor.

Anything that can be done to speed up the game, including disallowing hollywooding like table talk for reads, is great for everyone involved.

The schedule on this page shows the final table on Thursday, January 31.

So that's a big difference. Which is it then, from 1/28 to 2/1, or 1/27 to 1/31?

Ok, WPT just put up a new page confirming the new dates, Main event from 1/27 to 1/31.

https://www.worldpokertour.com/event...019/#eventTab1

Thanks again DC.

BTW, interesting to note that the final table is to be played at the eSports arena at the Luxor in Vegas. Pretty inconvenient for friends/family who want to rail, but I don't think I'd complain if I made it that far!

+1 the fumes this weekend were brutal. My wife has started making me leave my clothes outside when i come back from the casino because the kitchen smells stay with my clothes and stink up our house.

Did you play during the morning/afternoon? The fumes often don’t get bad until late at night when the volume in Snacks’ kitchen increases. If you were there after 9pm on Friday and Saturday night then I have no idea how you could say there was no odor.

I was there after 9p. I remember looking over at Snacks and being surprised that the line was about ten people deep. My guess is they close later than other food options in the casino.

Given the wide variety of opinions expressed regarding the fumes, my guess is that some people are more sensitive to it than others.

Has anyone contacted the applicable local authorities about it? I really think someone who is having problems with it should do that so it can be checked to make sure it's safe. I wouldn't want to be inhaling stuff I shouldn't be, but I also don't have standing to complain because I haven't experienced it.

Will all promos, like Lucky Table, still run on Thanksgiving/day after? I recall them being canceled on some random holiday previously.

Hopefully, any exceptions will be stated on Bravo and/or on MGMNH’s Twitter account.

All promos and tourneys will run as regularly scheduled on Thanksgiving Day, as well over the weekend. We hope to see you here!

I know I have asked before, but I get conflicting info on this.... Is it a smoky smell, or is it a chemical smell? My understanding was that the smoky smell had all but dissipated...

I'm sitting at table 29 right now, very strong smell. Polled the table and consensus is wood smoke.

It's always been kind of like a burning greasy food smell and the smoke that comes with it, rather than a BBQ smoke- kind of hard to describe. It's pretty much persisted for me for months... as noted more noticeable later in the day and potentially being perceived differently by each person's sensitivity/tolerance level.

Basically this. It smells like a grease fire. Early this morning when Snacks was closed for cleaning there was a noticeable improvement in air quality on the platform. Thank you for continuing to address this issue Johnny. I appreciate your continued efforts to solve the problem.

The strength of smell definitely fluctuates over time. Its worse late at night and depending on how the air is filtered, it will also get worse over time as filters get dirty. I'm sure MGM can afford an HVAC tech to come look at the solution and see if it is adequate.

[In October, 2018] MGM National Harbor’s 3,136 slot machines and 198 table games generated $73.4 million in gross gambling revenue (GGR) for the Oxon Hill property. That’s about 46 percent of the entire casino market in October, and is a 41.1 percent surge for the resort compared to its 2017 performance.

Gross revenue is irrelevant. Net revenue is what matters.
