Pretty sure he meant in the area. Borgata/FW/MS are not really competitors. Context is key

Are those in Maryland?

No?

So... ok then.

Is there a stairwell to go down to the casino or near the entrance from the parking garage? Pretty much always looking to avoid the type of elevator lines MD Live suffers from if I can (and get a little exercise)

So if by "that would be enough to make me play elsewhere, given the option" you meant traveling to "Borgata, Foxwoods, and Mohegan Sun," your post makes sense and you should travel to those other places to have a $1 BBJ drop.

They match black card Borgata. Message came out in October about their acquisition of Borgata and that Black card instantly matches to Gold. I upgraded on a Vegas trip in November.

Not sure if they will oblige the Diamond equation you mention however.

did you already have a mlife card or brand new?

horseshoe matched md live's black card but only if you were brand new to total rewards.
(thats what they told me as to why they wouldn't match my black card )

I already had a mlife card, my friend got a brand new card last night. Both were upgraded to Gold using the Borgata black card match.

What is the wifi situation? Specifically, is it good? Plenty of rooms have terrible free wifi.

If you're coming dress like you're going to be playing outside. It's that cold. Massive, massive design flaw with the doors opening directly to the outside with no buffer room in between.

A month ago, I went to the Borgata with my Diamond card and got my Black Label in order to get matched to Mlife gold. I believe the Borgata isn't suppose to change over to MLife until 1/1/17

If this is true, that's absurd. I thought Horseshoe was bad having only a handful of 10-handed games. I guess I'll be going elsewhere. I'm not going to go to MGM solely to play poker, particularly when I can rack up TC's at the Shoe . . .

this is really strange no? I see VP all over Vegas but they completely ignore it in this area? Not gonna lie, vp was my plan to build teir points at MGM since poker doesn't do anything for it.

Exactly. Exactly. I'm gonna head over in a few hours. If true, it's likely a deal breaker for me, which would be a shame, because I've been looking forward to making this my new home for a long, long time.

VP is nowhere near a priority for most casinos. The big ones in Vegas also. You'll mainly see crap payouts, if you even see them. No surprises here.

Hey Ten Second Tom, didn't you already post about this?

Consider that today is the coldest day of the year so far. Also, in combination with a full casino during opening, I bet the casino heat is turned down relatively low.

I find that in most poker rooms around the world, you are generally responsible for self regulating your comfort temperature due to a wide range of personal preference. Please tell me you were not wearing a short sleeve shirt with no backup (jacket or sweatshirt).

I reserve the right to retract this condescending post if I visit the room and it is indeed like playing outside.

It's actually not that great. Friend ran a speed test and it came in low. Didn't affect me listening to Apple radio but those who sit and watch Netflix while playing may be delayed.

Also I love the idea of the tablet drink ordering system but the execution is still a bit rough. Have to be patient when ordering drinks

True enough, VP may not be a priority for casinos, but to not have ANY? Name another casino that has made that decision. That alone makes it surprising.

MGM will likely fill its floor with people donking slots, and be fine with it. But they will have lost me as a customer (an MLIFE Platinum) with this decision. [And, yes, I realize they couldn't care less about losing me . . .]

Could all of this be due to the difference between actual Slot Machines and Video Lottery Machines? I am pretty sure all Maryland Casinos are only regulated for the latter.

So, just to clarify about card matching.

1. If you have a MD Live Rewards card and you re new to the MGM system, will they match?

2. If not, can you take advantage of the Borgata loophole and have them match the MD Live card and then have the Borgata card matched to MGM?

Sorry if I missed it, but I saw a question about bike parking in the hype thread but no definitive answer. Anyone know if there will be parking for bikes and if so, what the set up is/will be?

Thanks!
