I suspect frequent table changers are seen as a nuisance and looked down on by some of the staff. Frequent table changers are often nit regs who stalk the games like hungry vultures, blatantly close in on their prey, fight over position on their prey with other regs, and jump from table to table 3+ times per session. Because they are nit regs, they also tend to not tip while making extra demands from the staff. I don't blame the staff for having this view and I can see why they don't care to protect the interests of bumhunters. Regardless, the staff should still do their job, but it would probably help the situation if players with extra demands threw them a bone once in a while.
Some casinos have a transparent table change list. That could be immensely helpful to see that your request has been acknowledged and what position you are in to move. When managing large groups of people where rule-breaking is rampant, transparency is key. Requiring seat cards is another example of transparency so dealers won't have to rely on the new player's word when they claim the floor sent them there.
I tend to agree with most of what you are saying. If you think table changing for some regs max out at 3x a night, your wrong. I have seen the same regs table change 6-8 times during a 6 hour window without asking for table changes but randomly ask if everyone is asking for the same table
As far as forgetting. I think if you ask a floor as they are walking past , yes they don’t care. I personally walk all the way to the front to make sure my name is on the change request list. But recently ever since they have added new staff to the front., a female in particular she never adds the name. I ended up walking multiple times or just let the floor after checking twice.
Your comment about nit regs is absolutely correct. If your a 2/5 regular you automatically know the regs that do this and it’s annoying. They make the table for causal poker not fun and uninviting.
I personally ask for a table change if I am surrounded by the annoying nit regs who do not talk and have no sense of humor. I am reg but also play poker for fun and conversation. Not to sit with sunglasses on texting my other nit regs to come to the table.
On the last note. We can all complain and nit pick about problems. For the most part this room is ran as good as any room in the country. When a room is good, you will have these problems and it’s extremely hard to fix. It’s not the staff or JG fault every time. It’s the idiot(sorry) regs that make the room the problem with all the demands and grumpiness in my opinion
