Thanks again for this. I noticed an improvement the last two days. However today it's gotten really hot again. Not sure if the AC shut off with the storm outside or something but even before then dealers have still been fanning themselves and most players are talking about the heat. If you went like 2 degrees further it might be perfect.

Another suggestion that I think would be a huge help: the floors are stationed either at the very front or very back of the room leaving the middle of the room far from any floors, out of shouting-distance for dealers in the middle of the room needing something.

If you put a mini-brush stand at the pillar by table 21 and stationed a floor to work the middle of the room/2-5 area, it would resolve tons of issues for those middle tables. Borgata does this and it works perfectly for table transfers, seating new players, and general floor questions. If there isn't a floor happening to walk by the middle when something is needed it's typically a pretty big hassle at the moment to get one.

To answer both questions in the 2 posts above.... we have podiums that will go by the columns in the middle of the room. These will be fully equipped with PCs, mics, and card swipes. They will be the primary stations for the supervisors in that section. This will address the comp and table transfer issues.

Ive been playing here since week one. Your room is always hotter then a poker room should be, but I can tolerate it for the most part. Jumped in here to reach out to you Jonny about tonight. I'm bringing this to your attention becuase I thought you would appreciate the feedback.

I was there earlier tonight and it was like a sauna. The dealers were miserable, the suits were running around with their suit jackets off and I can't blame them. Worse of all, nearly all the players at our table were grouchy and uncomfortable.

I don't know you but I understand that your not new to poker. How is it that after two years you still don't have a handle on keeping that room nice and cool for us?

I saw a guy from MGM walking around with one of those electric thermometers. I heard the heat was blasting in the room tonight at over 100 degrees!

It's summer. This is crazy! Even in the winter the heat shouldn't be turned on.

I've played in rooms from the west coast to here. Poker rooms are suppsoed to be chilly so you don't notice the stink of the players in a three day session next to you! None of the other rooms in this country are ever as hot as this one on a regular basis. I need a jacket in most rooms. In your room I need a cold towel.

I can't take more clothes off but players who prefer to be warm can put more clothes on. It's standard for poker rooms to be cold. Maryland live keeps their room nice and cool and so does the Horse Shoe. What's the deal Johnny? I don't want to smell the player next to me! Why has this been an ongoing problem with your room? Please fix it!

I love playing in your room and sorry to be negative. I hope the feedback is welcome.

The downstairs room was always well air conditioned.

If the upstairs has some temporary issues with A/C I'm sure they're aware of it (and I'm sure the dealers constantly remind them of it as well)

Re: MGM National Harbor Resort & Casino (Oxon Hill, MD); FAQ in OP

Is there any way I can check the comps I earned at MGM (and Aria, Bellagio) online?

I play at Borgata. On Borgata website, it shows my Borgata comps and Tier Points correctly. When I log into Mlife.com, it shows my Tier Points, but it shows $0 for any comps.

Poker comps register and show differently than the regular comps. There is nowhere online to check the respective poker comps for Natl Harbor, Aria, or Bellagio.

Thanks for all the feedback on the new space. We are actively working on the temperature is as a high priority. All other issues are secondary until that one is addressed completely.

Thanks for all you do. I can’t imagine how much work this transition has been. Not many poker room managers are as receptive to feedback as you.

Temperature is much better today. Kind of chilly in shorts and a T. If they could consistently keep it at this exact temperature it would be perfect.

Despite his (uncalled for) snarky tone, I would like to see a room diagram at the brush, even if it's hand drawn on a piece of paper.

And have brush personnel point to the table on that drawing to direct players

Very comfortable today.

Small note: the pizza at Snacks is far inferior to the pizza downstairs at Zizi. The cheese and the sauce are the same I think, but the crust is completely different and tastes like cardboard.

Johnny,

Can the staff start coming down hard on regulars who violate table change and seating procedure? It's quite irritating to see players who are there every day hop tables without permission. They know the rules. And a handful of them are taking advantage during this time when the staff is more busy than usual. They assume because they ask for a table change they can just take the seat the second it opens without regard for anyone that may be ahead of them on the transfer list.

It's not just a matter of courtesy. It gives the impression to non-regulars that regulars get special privileges. I'd be willing to bet they'd start following procedure if they were getting handed 24 hour bans every time they violated it.

Re: MGM National Harbor Resort & Casino (Oxon Hill, MD); FAQ in OP

Room is great except...

The spacing around the tables sucks.

The tables in the elevated section are fine, but not so in the lower 40.

I sat in the 1st table in the rightmost row and my chair was almost touching the rail. A chair massage in that seat would be impossible (I shouldn't complain as this could potentially fix a big leak for me).

I also sat in a in table in the back 3rd column, adjacent to the not-yet-being-used podium and it was bad too. The cocktail server didn't bother trying to go around that way.

Maybe the spacing is better at some of the other tables, but those were the only two I experienced.

Is there anything that can be done?

It seems that moving the rails out to the outer edge of the red carpet trim would be helpful...I believe it's about a foot.

Someone hopped the line last night. The dealer called them out for it the supervisor came over and said just let them sit. There were 20 names on the list!!!! This staff needs to get it together. Next time I'll just hop the mine instead of waiting 20 minutes

I have on a few occasions “broken” the table change rule when its busy. Usually, i ask for a change, they say ok next open seat, i see an open seat and see that the floor is busy so I just move, because I know thsts what they will say to do. Ill usually make sure the floor sees I did it when they are free.

Can you just not do this? Regardless of what the floor tells you at the time, there may be people ahead of you on the list. What's so difficult about walking up there and asking if it's okay that you take the open seat? They don't memorize the table change lists, and the staff rotates out of the brush spot pretty frequently, so they may not even be aware until they actually look at the list.

I'm not trying to be a dick. It's just that when others see this happen they think it's okay and start doing it.

Beautiful room, Johnny!! You done good.

The aesthetics make MGMNH’s new poker room the premiere poker room on the east coast, only 2nd in the U.S. to Encore in Vegas, which is just visually and functionally chic.

I luvs the new 9-handed 2/5 games, the added touch of Snacks and the Bar being easily accessible, and having a functioning door lock on the lock box room.

The view from the smoking terrace is awesome! I don’t smoke cigarettes, but will now bring a cigar with me every now and again, so i can have a good reason to hang out there.

Would like to echo some of the concerns voiced regarding the tightness of the tables, and would like to suggest removing those outside rails altogether, moving the tables up and out slightly and letting the poker room BE the full room.

Just my thoughts . . .
