Damn, I didn't even know that. That sucks, I was saving my comps up to take my in-laws to the fry bar at Fish. =\

DMoogle,

Any comp hours you had prior to the current non-bravo time will still be there. Only the comps put on the card are use within 24 hours or lose. The last couple weeks didn’t have hour tracking so those won’t add up but anything from before that should still be there. Check with a floor to see what your current balance is.

It’s July 2 and the website still has the June calendar, nothing for July.

Hello, I am interested in working at MGM as a Poker Dealer and I have a couple of quick questions. I have a regular M-F job, so I would like to work only on the weekends and holidays. Does MGM have/allow part time dealers? Also, are dealers required to pool their tips or do they keep them? Thanks for your help in advance.

The poker room is still in its original location. We will be moving to our new location soon. We will eventually announce a date when we are 100% certain.

I’m guessing that Johnny is not the final arbiter of when the actual room move occurs, and like any good employee and manager, he voices his issues, presents a plan, then publicly supports the decision and situation. MGMNH is lucky to have him.

I would suggest adding 1-2 drawings for less $$$ at the end of the promos that end at 2:15, so like, if its for $300 till 2:15, do $100 drawing at 315 and 415). That way some will leave at 215, others at 415, and still others avoid rush hour, and then some stay because of the afternoon influx.

It would spread the load on your cashier and it would cost fewer promotion $ to extend.

As far as cutting, imo there is plenty of fat to cut. The promos are going on wayyyyyyyyyyy too often. 5days a week till 1015pm wtf. And 3 different promos that are just a little bit different and pays a little different. its too confusing to no particular end. Considering that the promos are basically rake reduction, and lack of promos are a rake increase, it would stand to reason that youd use it to encourage play at low volume times. Instead , for some reason youve increased rake on friday and saturday afternoon (this makes sense),sundayAM (??)and 1015-215(this one is weird, its exactly long enough to discoursge people from staying without saving many promo $$$)

at this point there just arent enough times feeding the promo, so its just pushing $2/hand around the poker room to no discernable end except to create extra work for your floor, and to let the weekday crowd take a little bit from fri/sat pm. I would much rather no promo ran 4 days a week, and much better promos that incentivise players more ran 3 days a week.

Speaking personally, I used to work 10 hour days 4 days in a week to get a day off midweek to go over there on the $500/hr till 415 days. I could even see the argument that $500/hr was TOO good, because I certainly wouldve showed up for less. I calculated the rake as being negative for the first 2-3 hours of that promo. the current promos are basically a $5+2 -$2.10, for some unnecessary variance, or the $300/hr which is actually decent but ends at 215, and tends to run with more tables since its saturday, so i care much less

I would guess the ideal setup is somewhere between the old setup and the new, id say there has been an overcorrection on promo payout density.

In regards to promos, I think one of the things that needs to be considered more strongly is whether or not a given promotion is effective, i.e. does it actually bring more people into the room?

I'd say that the $100 lucky table drawings do not. I don't think people are making the drive to the casino for the hourly <5% chance of winning $100. I'd be willing to bet that the room traffic wouldn't change much on Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays if the drawings were scrapped on those days. I think a more effective use of the money would be to have drawings on one of those days (the slowest day of course) and make it $300/hr.

Can we please make 2-5 nl nine handed when we move to new room. We would have more tables and it will only use one extra table when room is packed as we only get nine tables of 2-5 at most.
9 handed > 10 handed
I’ve been playing at mgm since grand opening and I would log more hrs at 2-5 if it was more comfortable and had a better chance of winning since I don’t like to play tight. I’m good for the game and Mgm poker economy...I’m using my 1 time not for a win...but for you guys to make the room a better experience for me and others.

It's already been announced 2/5 is moving to 9 handed when the room moves upstairs (on Tuesday?).

Couple questions for Johnny:

1. I played the Sunday tournament last week and the results have yet to be added to Hendon Mob. When will they be added?

2. For the Main Event seat promotion: In the case that I win a seat in one of the sattellites then win the promo, will I receive the cash value of the seat or nothing?

Lionjuice, I was trying to present the info with some more excitement, but, havax and JG stole my thunder.

If you follow the thread for the last 3/4 pages you will get most of your questions answered.

In regards to promos, I think MGM has done their background work and finalized on the dates/time. If there was an option to cut, I would suggest making it 200/250 instead of 300 for Fri-Sun and extend the drawings by couple of hours.

Yesterday, multiple dealers and floor staff advised me that Tuesday, July 10, will be the opening date for the new poker room.

I was also advised that there will be $500 lucky table drawings for 12 hours on the opening date, and the following two or three days.

Do 4 card plo games 5/10 or bigger ever run here? I check bravo every once in a while and haven't seen any.

Occasionally. Pretty rare though - usually only if a higher stakes whale requests it. 5-card PLO has taken over.

Haha, I think this is Johnny's "subtle" drop for saying that the room is planned to open this week.
