Once again. If they had two working mics there shouldn’t have been a line in the first place. I am the first one to give praise and tips to the floor when they’re doing a good job. I was out in the casino spending money and I assure you that’s what the casino wants me doing, not waiting in line. You seem to know better than me so you should open your own poker room.

Also, you have been operational for more than a year now!
How does it work in vegas now? Heading there soonish.

Johnny - Do you think the temperature fluctuation problem will still be a problem upstairs? I'm only asking because this seems to be the main gripe about the room at this point amongst most people.

This issue should be fixed. The poker area will be the biggest part of what is in the area, and is not exposed to exterior walls. My guess is it will be a little cold overnight and early AM, and then perfect as the room begins to fill (like every other poker room in the country)

Johnny

I play some of the bigger 5 card PLO games at MGM and came in yesterday to play 10/10 5card game that runs on occasion. I have played and started the game several times in the past and it had always been uncapped. Went in yesterday and there had been a 5k cap put on the game. There are a lot of reasons I really dont like the cap at 5k:

1) You always have a 25$ straddle on the game, so the game is pretty much going to be 10/10/25 which in 5card is almost always going to play twice the size of a 10/25 NL Holden game which is uncapped.

2) Its always going to be alot of the same people playing and almost all of us agree there should be no cap.

3) When the game has been running for 6+ hours, the stacks start to get massive. Yesterday, half the table after 10 hours of play had 15k + in there stacks with 2 people having 25k + stacks. The average stack was probably 10k. Due to the natural volatility of this game, I could very well be losing a 30k pot and only be able to buy back in for 5k and then have to compete against someone who has a 40k+ stack.

I like the minimum at 1k and I think bumping the game up to 10/25 with a 2500 minimum and 50$ straddle dissuades a lot of people from wanting to play. If you were to put a cap on this game, I wouldnt mind a 10k cap. I just think for how big this game plays, having a max start of 200bb is way too shallow. You could also consider what Cherokee has done with all of their omaha games for WSOP series, which is allow players to buy in up to the highest stack at the table after an hour.

Nice to see the railings around the room are gone. It was way quicker getting the the rest room today.

As did I. If they are moving chair/tables from the current room to the new room this was probably done to make that easier. On that note, Johnny, will the new room have all new tables or are you recycling the current ones?

I wasn’t planning to be in dc again until July and haven’t moved my box yet. Is this going to be an issue? When do we have to come by before it’s a problem?

Once we move the room, the old boxes will likely be unavailable until late July

Is there going to be any downtime during the transition?

If we have a box now we won't be able to access them until late July once the room moves? Is there anything we need to do now if we have a box to prepare for the move? I've been to my box recently and they haven't mentioned anything.

Borgata does both comps and tier points.

Vegas lets you share your poker comps across rooms. I am not clear on the Tier Points, some say it does and some say there are no tier points for poker. You do get other offers like rooms etc.,

JG, I am keeping my fingers crossed for June promotions.

Go by the cage and ask them if your box is ok. Any box above a certain number will need to be moved.

No huge changes, except the Top 4 promo will be eliminated and replaced with a high hand..

I was one of the players in the nosebleed numbers, and something like 3+ months ago I came in and they switched me, so unless you havent moved it in a while you should be fine. I dont know the cutoff number, but I was like >500.

Is the tourney Sunday a 50k? I know typically the 1st Sunday of the month is but wasn't sure if this was altered due to WSOP or something.

Don't know if it's been reported here yet - heard from a dealer that the room move starts on the 18th and they'll move a couple tables at a time.

Interesting that when the new location was mentioned a guy who'd I'd think of as a rec worried that we'd get less foot traffic because he liked playing against randoms who didn't necessarily come to play poker.

Johnny -

How many players in Thursday's $350 satellite tourney must there be for a $2,700 seat to be awarded? 1 in 10, 9, or 8? Also, how long are the levels and the starting chips for this satellite?

It would be helpful if structure sheets are posted online...particularly for future tournaments such as upcoming Potomac Open.

Lastly, is the Limit Omaha on Aug 6 in the upcoming Potomac Open Limit Omaha 8 or better (i.e. the same as the one you ran in the last Potomac Open in November)?

Thanks.

All structure sheets will be posted online within a week or so. We are having massive issues with the back end of our website.
