Is there a specific reason there is a promo on Saturdays? I'm asking because I noticed the promos are getting worse from month to month, and having a promo on a Saturday seems kinda pointless given how busy it gets anyway.

I don't know if it's laziness, not knowing the basic functions of poker, or just not caring about their job, but I think a gentle reminder at the next shift meeting that the button moves one live player in clockwose order after each hand may be helpful for some of the dealers.
I feel like the dealing overall is some of the best I have seen. There are a handful of dealers who are snarky generally and can be careless about things like that. I have been accused by dealers of trying to squat seats just because I wander by a table while waiting for my seat and I have seen them be aggressive without cause to others, but that is the exception rather than the rule. Perhaps a quick mention in a shift change will help, but I suspect its more habit that is hard to break.

Yes. We hit max occupancy at 11am with the promo. Without it, we hit max occupancy at 5pm-6pm...

You're right. Most of the dealers are great. I've just been getting frustrated lately with the bad ones who give players attitude for their mistakes. My apologies for coming of whiny itt.

If it comes to creative aspect for promo’s or trying new formats in tournaments I have to give it to the other place. Whether their room is full or not they keep trying new promotions/hours/formats every month.

I saw that they are going to have a Big Blind Ante Only format next week. Hope we can do something similar here.

I started dividing my time now between both the places, I felt at least I would support an organization that is trying new things to attract their customers.

Yeah the promos are really frustrating. I would be happy with no promos and no drop but if there is going to be a $2 jackpot drop some halfway decent promos would be nice.

But that’s my biggest issue with the room which speaks to how good it is.

One more gripe. I love the room in general.

Tonight survivor tournament, they opened with 4 tables, total entries 52. There were 46 entries half way through Level 3. There is zero interest in opening table 5 and accomodating the additinal players.

Alternates 10/11 getting seated in Level 6 on the same 4 tables. I have seen so many times additional tables opened when it is 6 or more alternates waiting at the other place.

Game selection is key with 2/5. Lots of wanna be pros with headphones and sunglasses in the 2/5.

Johnny

Can you request an official plaque for 3 blind games? 5/10/25 specifically would be appreciated!

Thank you

Depends on what game we are talking about. We either spread 2 or 3 blind games depending on game type. Example: we spread 5/10 and 10/25 NL, so we won’t spread a 5/10/25. Players have a habit of trying to manipulate which game they spread to try to isolate a weak player. It’s bad for the games at the limits immediately above and below...

Thanks for the response. What 3 blind games (nl) are available?

That's why I play PLO during non-promo hours.

Could you change the 5/5 PLO (and 5-card, obviously) game to officially be a 5/5/10 game, with no straddle allowed (to keep the game from becoming 5/5/10/25)? It's played as 5/5/10 98% of the time or more, but it really hurts the game when you have the rare player that refuses to straddle (I don't think ANY regular refuses straddle). When you do have someone who won't straddle, they get dirty looks and rude comments (arguably righteously so). In this particular game (can't say the same for NLHE), your point about manipulating the game to isolate weak players NEVER happens. Plus, 1/2 with a 5 bring-in is only a little smaller than 5/5 without a straddle.

I think if you were to poll the 5/5 PLO players about this, I don't think a single person would vote "no."

Why is the vig so high on the monthly Cakes tournament, I looks like, if I'm reading correctly, you're charging over 100 in fees/dealer tips/etc... less than 200 dollars of the 300 buy-in goes into the prize pool? Is there a reason for that one in particular?

Thx,
Shjux

My team and I have answered this question multiple times. We will spread a 5/5, a 5/10, a 10/25, etc etc....

You're missing the $50 bounty. A total of $53 is taken by the house.

Quote:
$197 from each entrant goes to prize pool, $35 is withheld for house revenue, and $15 is withheld for staff. $50
will be used for as a bounty. $3 per player will be withheld to fund any guarantees and the tournament leaderboard.
