At some point, yes. The vendor has serviced the machines and we are waiting for a follow up.

Haha. I spoke with my guys yesterday about this. We had staffing issues.... anyone who plays in the room regularly would almost certainly agree that beverage service has drastically improved (yesterday notwithstanding)

Fair enough. And I know food & beverage is not under your direct control so I appreciate you trying to get that department up to your standards of service.

Bad beat just hit at table 12. Straight flush over quads.

I'd 100% agree that it has improved and definitely appreciate JGs attention to detail. But IMHO it's all relative considering how it was at opening. I've still played on more than one occasion recently where over an hour wait was the norm for the night.

Sign up for 2/5, 5/T, and 1/2 PLO at the front and they tell me they've got me on for NL but I'll have to go to the back brush to get signed up for PLO. That can't actually be the correct procedure right? This isn't the first time this has happened.

It is, simply because the supervisor directly in front of high limit controls seating in the PLO games and 5 card games at all limits. IF there was an available seat, that supervisor would direct you to where your seat would be. The “L” shape of the room prevents the supervisor at the front from being effective at seating those games. Hypothetically, any new room we may or may not have coming would have that flaw deigned out of it.

I searched the thread and didn't see an answer....

Johnny - when is the summer series that's referenced on Bravo? Looks like Main buyin is $2700, but no mention on dates, or a Guarantee?

Is a schedule posted somewhere? If not, can you give an idea of when?

Thanks a lot!

JG,

The Sunday tournaments except the first Sunday are 25K GTD instead of 50K.

Is it reasonable to make the players pay the same buy-in ($350)? I would assume less GTD should result in a reduced buy-in.

Why is it 85 degrees by the outside doors right now? Why can't this room be kept at a reasonable temperature?

When JG was on the radio last week I believe he said the $2700 was a $500k guarantee - and iirc there was a second $500k guarantee too.

It is reasonable, as the guarantees are based on predicted field sizes. There will still be occasional overlay, but not to the degree we were having. The 50K will return to a more regular in the late spring/early summer.

Schedule will be posted by 3/1. Tourney dates are 8/3-8/13. The guarantee will be $500K

This may be old news for many, but a close friend of mine played on Sunday and heard the following from a dealer: New room to open in about 4 months upstairs, there will be access right from the 6th(?) floor of the parking garage, up to 50 tables, restaurant/bar/bathrooms up there. And which may be the biggest positive in my book, no droning noise from casino floor/slot machines.

Sounds awesome but I’ve heard so many different things from dealers that I’m just going to wait until an official announcement before I start getting really excited. But I think we at least know for sure that the room is moving upstairs and it should be a little larger.

OK, thanks Johnny! Appreciate all of your efforts with the room, including being so available and responsive on this forum, and hope to meet you in person one of these days (I seem to play when you're off)

Is there a reason 2/5 games are not 9 handed?

I believe it's 5+2 at MGM. Same at MD Live. If you don't like it, drive to another state to play or move to Canada & play on Pokerstars.

Wondering if your "eh okay" comment is based on one visit, since many other posters on here have described the 1-3 at MGM at the juiciest in the country. Or maybe Sarah is just generally a grumpy bear.

Yes. The more people you have at the table, the more players can play.

Yes. Table space. On weekends we have long lists every day. We generally spread 7-9 2/5 NL games. Going 9-handed get 7-9 less people in action. If we ever expand our poker room (hint hint) we will likely move to 9 handed in 2/5.

LOL at "drive to another state" and "juiciest in the country".

Ever been to Florida or Nevada?
