We have table cards, just didn't introduce them yet. They are coming.

Just reading here about the no hoodie rule. Is that still true if my hood never goes up? I mean, it's winter. I wear hoodies that are super warm, and it's easier than carrying a coat around a casino.

BTW, the chip burying is already starting. It's aided and abetted, IMO, by chip runners opening the game by giving every player who bought in for more than $100 at least $100 in greens. Of the nine players at my 1-3 table yesterday morning, four had their green chips at the bottoms of stacks. Not one dealer said a word.
This shouldn't be as significant a problem with greens involved.

As long as they are in the front stack, what's the problem?

Its an angle. You sneak a single black $100
Chip on the bottom under a stack of reds. It blends in. Player pushes that stack forward in a bet. Players left behind may think the bet is 100 when in reality it's 195-200.

Sure you can blame the caller for not getting an exact count but it's also completely avoidable if the big chip is on top.

This is correct. Additionally, it's not super-easy to distinguish the blacks from the greens.

What's a drink table and how can I request to sit at one?

You wouldn't want to sit at one; they're really small. Just pull one up next to you and use it to hold your cocktails.

My total play time is about two hours, but I think it's a significant problem if dealers aren't correcting it, because that's how it becomes the norm.

Why is it an issue? Because it's against the rules. And it's harder to count chips on the bottom than on the top, and requesting a bet count gives away information, regardless of whether that information is legit/reliable or not. And as mentioned above, black/green can blend together, especially if you've been sitting at a table for a while.

But, again, there doesn't need to be a why. That's the rule. It should be enforced. And it should be enforced by dealers without prompting.

The rule applies to large denim chips. Green really doesn't fit that category. Black should always be on top or in a separate stack. Green and red are easy to tell apart, especially with a light colored felt.

So, is it the official policy of the room that green chips at the bottom of a stack of red is acceptable? Why would the rule be "large denomination" chips on top and not "largest denomination" chips on top? What's the benefit of allowing green chips on bottom, since so many drawbacks have been mentioned ITT?

It's the official position of the room that players should not arrange their chips in a manner that can significantly cause another player to misjudge their stack size significantly. If it's a black chip on bottom of a stack of red, that's significant. If it's a green chip, much less.

Anyone interested in either a 10/20 Limit Holdem game or a 10/20 Limit Omaha 8 with a 1/2 kill game? Getting a list together...trying to arrange either/both

This one won't change.

Hoodie question answered by Johnny in post #192. Sounds like a Casino policy not just a Poker Room policy.

Rapini, might be a good idea to put this in the FAQ at the start of the thread.

Overall had a great experience. Cage staff a little slow but that's to be expected. Recognized a lot of dealers and didn't have issues with any. Waitresses a little slow but no different than anywhere else.

Floor people super nice and friendly and very accommodating.
