During breaks in tournaments, dealers should remain at the tables.

Hmm if you guys want to be nitpicky, Cameras are a deterrent and the definition of a deterrent is prevention of a crime or bad behavior (AKA shenanigans).

In any case, glad to know security measures are in place.

JG,

Re - table change requests.

You mentioned 3 spots for Bravo input capabilities. But sometimes the back podium floor redirects requests to the front podium. Other times the floor at the back podium take the request without any fuss - it seems to depend on who is manning it.

It would help to have a clear process for table change requests - such as go to back podium for table change, go to front podium for new sign ups.

Thanks.

It would take a special kind of stupid to grab a stack full of worthless tournament chips and head for the exits... I think you're safe from this particular variant of shenanigan, cameras or no.

Worth more in some events than others, though.

23 of the tables in the tourney room will have capability to spread cash games... we should have 62 live games on property over the weekend.

Question - for the $500+80 the 80 is broken down as $55 to house revenue and $25 to staff. Are the dealers included in any of the "staff" breakdown?

Sigh my original question wasn’t meant to be directed at the particular event. Cameras deter a wide range of issues - I just wanted to know if the new poker tourney area had enough security to prevent chip thefts, dumping and whatever other tactics.

Looking forward to playing a well-run tourney.

Yes. That entire deduction covers the floor and the dealers

Monday looks to be a busy schedule. Seniors event at 11am, 6 max at 3pm, Satty at 6pm, and then the nightly tourney at 8pm. How many tables will be in the Ballroom? Will there be an issue of space regarding the nightly tourney?

So my friend made day 2 from flight 1B, said there were barely over 20 players. Is surviving day 1 gonna be the bubble?

Johnny,

The tournament setup is really nice. Nicely done on that front. I made a suggestion to one of your supervisors in the main poker room yesterday but will post here to make sure it gets to you. For the next series you host upstairs you should really try to get footprints on the floor leading from the poker room to the event room. "Potomoc Poker Open This Way" with footprint or arrow decals would go a long way. It would serve as good advertising for the event which is a bit hidden from non poker players and it would really help your front desk staff. They spent 75% of the time I saw them giving the same directions to get upstairs.

Edit: if MGM doesn't want you putting stickers on their fancy carpeting at least try to get some more signage.

I played in event #1 $580 PPO Tournament. The big problem I had was half the Dealers we had were either very inexperienced or just VERY slow. This is a problem. If you want to start new dealers out please start them out in low buy-in tournaments or low buy-in cash games. It was very tilting to have very unprofessional dealers dealing in the tournament.

Agreed. I played a flight yesterday and another today and one lady said yesterday was her first day dealing poker, and it really showed.

For eighty dollars juice on a $500 buy in, we should be getting better service. Parx charges fifty in juice for a $500 and their dealers are fantastic. Charles Town was charging sixty juice for a $500.

Eighty is just outrageous.

chairs are pretty bad and well unsuited for extended hours as a tournament or poker in general requires imo, maybe bring your own cushion

Cash games seem to max out at 39. Are there cash games in the tournament area, but just not on Bravo, or are there not any cash games up there after all?

Regarding possible overlay, perhaps having the opening guarantee on a holiday weekend was not the best idea...???
