They aren't online yet, but should be very soon. When they are, I will post notification in this thread.

Hey guys I have questions about the game in MGM National Harbor. How are they compare to Parx? I'm thinking about moving closer to either Parx or MGM, I play mostly PLO now. Thanks in advance.

What questions? I would happy to answer any (from a management perspective). I am sure you can get answers from a player’s perspective here too.

I don't know about Parx in particular and I only really play 1/3 but the games at MGM NH are the best I've experienced in at least 5 years. They play deep and action oriented. There's still a trickle of players brand new to casino poker too which is pretty rare at most spots that are longer established.

It's also a really nice property, good comps and decent food which helps.

Thanks PsuJohn that's exactly what I need to hear. Also what are some of the area near MGM that I can rent a 1 bedroom or studio apartment for $1k or less I don't mind driving 30 minutes daily.

Anyone care to chime in on the PLO action?

Re: apartments - I'm not sure at exact areas, but definitely go in the opposite direction of DC. DC real estate prices are crazy. Virginia isn't great either, so maybe try Maryland, such as Silver Spring.

The 1/2 PLO games are very good, particularly the 1/2 5 card game. The 5/5 game only runs like twice a week, and is normally a tough game relative to other 5/5 games I've played.

Thanks DMoogle. I'm still a fish in PLO so I will take a hard pass on the 5 Card PLO. Interesting that the 5/5 game up there is tougher, down here I'm not impress with the 5/5 line up at my local casino.

Definitely check out the games at both MGM and Parx before you decide to move to the area if you can. If your plan is to play 2/5nl, you may be disappointed in the game quality.

Are the 2/5 NL Regs are that tough at MGM.

Not necessarily tough but a ton of 2/5 regs have moved here making the games nothing special. The 1/3 games still seem to have that new room vibe, the bigger games do not imo.

I know not all details are out regarding event #1 of PPO, but is day 2 going to be that Sunday and final table on Monday?

1-3 is also super different during the day on weekdays, as compared to at night and on weekends (which is to be expected), so it depends where you're coming. During the day, it's a lot of regulars, but not necessarily a high level of play. Just a little more pre-flop tightness and fewer crazy plays.

The 5-card PLO game is butter soft. Any 2+2er could beat it, I believe. Unfortunately, I think the 1/2 5-card game (which has $5 bring-in) has cannibalized a lot of the fish that would play 5/5 otherwise.

The 5/5 game is a mixed bag, but actually last Friday it was literally the toughest 5/5 game I've ever been in in my life. I went to play 1/2 while waiting for the 100/200 mixed game to start.

If you're looking for a good 5/5 PLO game, check out Delaware Park. It runs regularly, and is consistently a good game (sometimes amazing, depending on if one of a handful of certain players are there). I played it full time last year before I moved down here.

Are the PPO events also subject to the 2% withholding for the jackpot fund?

Edit: is event #1 a best stack forward, give up your stack to re enter or a stack combine?

I'll probably be there tomorrow morning/early afternoon, but not sure if you'll be around yet. I generally just play 1/3, since it works for my roll and I feel good about being able to beat it.

Yeah this has been a real issue the last few months. Nothing we can do other than keep the 5-5 game going and hopefully building a bigger player base.

IMO the Fri/Sat games are a lot better than the weekday games.

BTW I dont think anyone has mentioned this but does/has anyone used valet parking and whats the service been like? I banged up my ankle pretty good this week and am hoping that cutting down on the walking as much as possible will be a big help. Have Gold status so I think that at least cuts the cost down.

These are posted now. I can’t post a link, but it’s on property website under Casino. Look for the tourney logo.

Yes. Blind structures with that info are posted on our website. Look under Casino and find the PPO logo.
