Just popped in to this thread as I'll be at National Harbor for a convention in a few weeks and wanted to get the lay of the land for when I'm not busy convening. I'm very impressed with Johnny's presence in this thread, particularly his honest candor and not only interacting with fans and/or to argue with critiques as so many reps do. Instead I've seen him addressing player concerns, passing good info, and saying so honestly when something is just the way it is.

Good work, Johnny.

Good work, Johnny.
I've heard the same from my buddy who's more active around here than me, which is why I feel great bringing this question to Johnny here:

I'm looking to set up a game with some friends, and wondering if there's any chance of getting a separate list running for a game that already runs like 1/3 or 2/5. Or if we could add some twist to the game (mandatory straddle at 1/3?) so that it is a different variant with its own list.

I'm anticipating being able to fill a table, but it wouldn't have to be "private" in the sense that we don't care if anyone who wants to sits in the game once we get it running.

I realize it's much more valuable to you guys to have this if it's a game that wouldn't otherwise run slash a table you wouldn't otherwise fill, but don't think we'd be able to do a weekday morning or anything like that. I know that you guys still get tons of games going on the weekend (I haven't been in a while so I'm not sure how much) so I suspect the answer is no, but can't hurt to ask, right?

Unfortunately, unless the stakes are significantly higher, we don't have the ability to offer a game of that type. How many people are we talking about? If you got there early enough on a weekend you could likely all start a table together, and then others would fill any empty seats...

Yeah I figured that would be the case. I didn't finalize anything with them because I wasn't sure if I could get it to happen but I think we will get 7-10 players.

Even what you just said above is pretty reasonable. I'm guessing that would involve coming in around 10-11am on a Sunday or something and opening a table when there's no list?

Edit: Or I guess just technically all getting on the list at once?

Johnny,

Love the room, great action, staff is professional and everything seems to be well run.

I was wondering how many Tournament leader board points the top 5 finished with last month? I won the Sunday tourney and looking to chase that free $2700 seat.

I believe 1st was 101 with the remaining top 5 within ~10 pts.

They keep a leaderboard book next to the coffee machines. It's updated pretty regularly.

I spoke with my contact at Borgata. After we send him the complete list of names for our satellite winners, you will be able to book. I will reach out to you at that time.

Johnny, your food-runners team members deserve an "employee of the month" recognition.

Can we please please make the 1-2 plo games timed rake or whatever it takes to call in to get on the list? It's unreasonable for the consistent hour long waits to play plo. I understand why there is no call ins for 1/3 and 2/5 but it really kills my play time when I drive 1.5-2hrs to play 5-6hrs and spend one of them waiting. It's perfectly fine when there is a 5/5 running but that isn't always the case on a weekday.

Speaking of 5-5, wanted to thank JG for the good work of a floor (least I think it was) today, whos name I forgot but couldnt mention anyway. Trying to get the 5-5 started the dealer tapping in said he had to go home sick - so the floor took off his jacket and started dealing. BTW, a damn good dealer too lol.

+1

It's been improved so much, and while there can occasionally be lengthy wait times, it's only during peak times when the room is filled and a bunch of tables have the food light on. The current food team is great!

Only an hour? Last time I tried on a Friday, I played other games for close to 4 hours and then gave up. I was on the 5 card and the 4 card and both were many hours. I understand the issue the casino has with people signing up on all the list, but I still wonder why you don't open a table even if you think a lot of the names are bogus. This would at least clean up the lists and if the people are real, then you could reduce the wait significantly. I'm not asking for PLO to be more important than 1-3 Hold-em, but if the PLO games have multi-hour waits and the 1-3 game has a 30 minute wait, couldn't you open one more table so that at least one of the variants has a lighter wait time?

Hey Johnny,

I'm a huge fan of the Sports Junkies and have always gone up to Borgota to play in their poker tournament, but I heard that it was going to be here at home this year! Is that true and do you have any details on it?

Hello, thinking about coming up tonight to play 1-3NL, a few questions I didn't see the answers to on pg1...

1)If I arrive around 8-9pm (Friday), what kind of wait am I looking at (average/typical)? And how long do the games run? I'd like to get a minimum of 6hrs in (9p-3a).

2) Do I need to (or should I) get any kind of players/members/reward card before playing?

3) Never played live before, what denominations should I break up a $500bi into? How many $1's, 5's, 10's, etc.?

1. 1/3nl runs 24/7 so you will have all the time in the world to play. You can probably expect to wait for a seat at that time, but not sure how long. Maybe 15 minutes. Other players may be able to better answer that one.

2. You don't need a players card to play but having one will get you $2/hr in comps that can be used at any food venue. It will also make you eligible for any poker promotions that are running. Turn left when you enter the casino floor from the garage elevators and go to the MLife desk to get a card before heading to the poker room.

3. Either all red ($5) or red and green ($25). The dealer will make change for you when you need whites ($1).

Have fun and don't be afraid to ask questions. The dealers, supervisors, and friendlier players will be happy to help you get accustomed to live play. One good tip is to clarify your actions verbally when betting, raising, or calling to avoid any chip denomination mistakes.

Hey Johnny,

Recently I have been lucky to find some very good games and the idea for a NLH game with antes has come up. I think there would be interest in trying this out.
What are the chances of being able to spread a 1/3 game with a 5.00 button ante (to speed up the hands and not have to collect from everyone). At 2/5 it would be a 10.00 ante (the ante would always be half the sb times 10). I assume this would be considered a new game type and need approval from gaming. If you are interested in trying this out would you need anything from the players to get three process started? Also there is a lot of buzz about short deck nlh recently and you have an opportunity to bring it to the mid Atlantic.

So...5 times the sb? Would definitely increase action and pot sizes but may draw mostly regs.

Long time reader/follower, first time poster.
Johnny any way to have the large TV's behind tables 11 and 16 raised about 2 ft so the view is not obstructed by the players sitting right there?
BTW love the room and the action, keep up the good work
