Maybe my opinion on this topic will change when I lose my sight, or rather, "have good vision but need reading glasses." However, for now I prefer the smaller indicators.

I completely agree. The standard size is best. The large format is WAY too easy to spy on. Standard format lets you "squeeze tight" and keep your hand lower and protected. If you have trouble seeing it, you need better glasses. Plus the large format just looks clownish. Should only be used in retirement community bridge games or your own home game if you choose, IMO.

also +1 to normal sized cards...large index cards are terrible, I get that they may have to be used in South Florida snow bird games but for omaha and draw games they (as noted) make it harder to protect your hand...prob better for stud but who plays stud...

Rapini, can you organize/coordinate?
I cannot, but you can if you want. I'd recommend making a separate thread for it and then link to that thread here.

A lot of the time when people run 2+2 meetups they have games at casinos where there's room to negotiate with management about the games played, a reduced rake of some sort, etc. My guess is Johnny's hands would be tied with all that stuff because he doesn't have any business incentive (or excess tables/space) to provide those kinds of perks.

Can you clarify if the top 10 or just top 5 in the leaderboard for august get paid or did they just post the freeroll structure for both promotion pages? Keep getting conflicting information. Was also told by whoever answered the poker room phone # that the upcoming Sunday tournament was cancelled yet the MGM NH Poker twitter account posted on the 26th that it was still running.

Thanks

Top five in overall points for the month win the prize listed. Any player who earns 30 points or more qualifies for a freeroll. The top 5 spots in the freeroll win prizes, including main event seats for the top 3.

Sorry but I still don't understand..... didn't the paper that was available in the room say that 4th through 10th got cash for the August freeroll?

Are you saying that only 4th and 5th get cash in the August freeroll, which is next Saturday?

Sorry for any confusion. Just trying to figure this out.

The paper I am referring to was/is available in the binder that shows how many points everyone has accumulated. Is the paper inaccurate?

It is, but you should check the date. It is updated regularly with the date of the most recent tournament listed at the top.

While I appreciate the comments regarding PLO, large index cards do not make protecting your hand in hold 'em difficult. They make something that is easy slightly less easy. But still easy. Very.

They do, however, make a huge difference to those people whose eyesight cannot be improved with corrective lenses.

I think the bolded is what caused the extra confusion Johnny, as I believe you meant top 10 here.

Just finished playing 5 days here. I ran like dog dookie but nobody wants to hear about that. Here's something more interesting.

During my 5 days, I played on 4 days where they had the hot seat thingy.

I played 29 hours during the 4 days of hot seat promo and hit it 3 times. Not the actual seat, but the table. $100, $100 and $300.

I wonder what the odds of that are?

On the other day when there was no hot seat promo, they had the top 4 high hand promo. I hit my first and only ever Royal that day.

$1000 in total bonuses in 5 days! Did I mention I ran like dog dookie in actual poker though?

Johnny, does the Borgata seat include hotel stay? A floorman said it includes one night at Borgata but I want to check with you. Thanks.

You, the casino, added that money or was it taken from the BBJ/promotions fund? Either way seems like a good deal for those who were able to play.

JG has already stated in this thread that they are withholding 2% of prize pool to fund overlays and freerolls.

I contributed $14 yesterday to your seat Crazy Joe. You're welcome.

Taken from the promo fund. All tourneys contribute to the fund...
