If you find the leader board tournament on that page and hit the learn more you'll see what you want.

Johnny - is the cost of the leaderboard tournament coming out of the promo fund or from some other source?

It is coming from the promo fund. Every tournament we withhold 2% from the prize pool to offset those costs. That 2% goes into the promo fund. We made that change beginning July 1.

Good on you! I appreciate having separately funded cash and tourney promo funds.

Thank you.

I don't believe Johnny actually said that... I only see reference to "promo fund" so it could just be the same one. Also no guarantee that the 2% is more, or less, than those costs.

But agree that the spirit is in the right direction either way.

Good point. I made an assumption that might not be accurate.

Perhaps Johnny can clarify if there are separate promo funds or not?

The promotion funds are not separated. There is a bad beat jackpot reserve account that funds all of our promotions. Any withholding from the tournament is deposited in that fund, and then prizes for the leaderboard a paid from the fund. Any missed guarantees on daily events are also paid from the fund.

I will post a breakdown of what that looks like shortly... It very close to dollar for dollar on what goes on and what is paid out.

Previous post was incorrect. The promotion pays out approximately 23K per month, and we take in between 9K and 10K per month from the tourneys. So 13K per month is essentially pulled from the cash promos.

I for one don't mind combining the promo funds as long as the amount given in tournament benefits is roughly the amount collected from tournament buy-ins. As a non-tournament player I'd be opposed to having the drop from my cash games providing benefits to tournament players.

Mostly though I appreciate that Johnny is pretty upfront about this stuff and willing to answer the question.

Obviously no cash game player is going to like that setup, but your transparency and willingness to tell us that is very much appreciated. If you see this as being a net benefit for the room and the poker player pool, then it's palatable. Thanks for the info, Johnny.

I would definitely make the argument that the Leaderboard is a net positive for the room. It increases our traffic for tournaments, and approximately 40% of our players that play in tournament play live poker either immediately before or immediately after the tournament.

The 50K guaranteed especially does this, as we can draw from a larger distance and a wider player base. The players that drive in more than 2 hours away are more inclined to stick around after and play live if given the choice of live poker vs. immediately driving back home...

Johnny, are y'all still running single table Sit N Gos?

If so, what times are best for play?

I'm thinking of driving up from Richmond, VA area this weekend

We are not running sit n Gos. We have cash games only tomorrow, and have our $50K guaranteed tourney on Sunday.

My mistake.

Any chance y'all will run Sit-N-Gos in the future?

I'd buy this if the room was bigger and this was filling otherwise empty tables. However with the crazy long lists you have, probably not so much.

I do appreciate you being transparent and the attempt at fairness. Just still falls short.

Look at our Sunday business without it. And our midweek evening business.... you will have your answer... we usually have 1-2 empty tables midweek.

Johnny,

Johnny,

When there is a misdeal with a card exposed, the dealers tend to flash the card around the table very quickly & put it back facedown.

can the dealers either show it longer or place it face up on the deck until the flop is dealt? It allows people to actually get a look at the exposed card.

Exposed cards by player are shown longer since dealers react more slowly to that, so not a problem there.

Thanks.

yes, I would prefer they either leave it face up on the table, or face up on top of the deck
