You cant view your poker comps online - have to ask a floor for your current balance and/or to transfer it over to your mlife card to use in the food court/shake shack etc.

Think I actually had kind of a screw up this weekend. Had $17 transferred over for Shake Shack. Got there and the girl took them of my other comps, I said no, you have to use the poker room ones. She said sure, no problem, I'll cancel this initial one out. Naturally, they came right out of my Express Comp balance. I'm wondering if the poker room $17 is still on there or if it expired at the end of the night.

I've been told they expire "after 24 hours"

I hope they get the comp thing into the 20th century. Last 2 times I tried to get a floor to put comps on my card for use it hasn't worked. Sunday I asked them to put $25 on for Tap and when I tried to use it they said there was nothing on the card. I'm hoping those comps are still on my card in the poker room because I can use another crab cake.

so poker comps can only be used at the property it was earned?

cant earn poker comps at mgm-nh then try to use it at Borgata's amphora lounge?

This is correct. It is also true of the Vegas Mlife properties, can't share poker comps between properties. Borgata appears to be an exception to the rule... I'm not sure about the express comps, but you actually earn tier credits from poker there. Hopefully that is a sign that eventually Mlife will get poker integrated everywhere.

I think a lot of us keep waiting for some upgrades to the system but IMO they are pretty far down the list and I wouldnt count on anything being improved until a new room opens (or doesnt).

The frustrating thing is exactly what you mentioned. When there are screw ups like this, there's nothing the player can do. On Friday night after playing for 8 hours, waiting in line to cash out, walking over to SS and waiting in line for food - I'm not going to walk all the way back to the poker room to clear things up - then redo that whole wait in line thing again.

The double Smoke Shack and shake is worth $17 but its definitely not worth $34 if thats what I paid lol.

I feel like every poker room staff in the country should make a visit to Commerce to see how to minimize stuff like empty seats and long food/drink waits. Why every poker room list/food isn't ran like theirs is beyond me. Having an extra host or two amongst the tables to quickly identify open seats and direct new players is invaluable.

I also think it's maddening Bravo has not added the feature where you can see actual lists with names on your phone (not mere #'s). It's almost like casinos prefer people mill about around the poker room vs spending money elsewhere because they know exactly when they will need to return to the room.

Or even the Bicycle Casino in Cali. I went there once and they filled seats as soon as they opened up, with the floor people standing next to the table where the empty seat is at.

This is probably a privacy issue. Some people might not want their names and locations broadcast on the Internet so that mad girlfriends or bounty hunters can find them.

2nd good news of the day was hearing from a friend at MGM that there will be @ 56 tables in the new room. I think last time I was told I wasn't even close when said person confirmed that the initial room would be "about 40" tables. So...who knows. But I think people will not be as distressed with the alleged new location as initially thought.

[/rumor]
Are we able to use M Life rewards through the app?

if you used a food runner, you could have avoided this problem?

hm.. how would using a food runner avoid this problem?
doesn't he also have to give the cashier your players card? thus the cashier could do the same accident of using your regular comps instead of poker comps?

Simple solution: your app display only shows your position on a list, all others anonymous.

Bravo monopoly is easily broken if an enterprising developer builds a better mousetrap, and makes the price right. (I'm looking at you, AltaVista search engine!) Heck, the Bravo API (which I fooled with a few years back) has data that the app doesn't always show, and last I checked was wide open security-wise, if not well documented. That data might be there somewhere...

I don't think it's tied at all to the room moving (or not). This is an MGM corporate level issue. First step is probably convincing the accountants that it's a good idea and honestly from their perspective I don't see how it can be a good idea. There's no question that the current system costs MGM less - at least in comps paid out, the additional labor cost might hurt. People are less likely to use the comps if they're more difficult to use and judging by traffic at NH and Aria and Bellagio it doesn't hurt attracting people to the room.

I suspect that if we do get auto express comps directly on the card we'd likely see a reduction in the comp earnings. Personally I think $1.50/hr I can use easily is better than $2/hr I can't use easily. The current system does encourage people to use the food runners and eat at the table though which might or might not be good for everyone.

You sure it's not the Bud light that's leaving a bad taste in your mouth?

Johnny, every year when I'm in Vegas I go to your sister property Bellagio to see if I like it any more than I didn't the previous year. Without fail every time I'm amazed at how rude and condescending the front desk staff is towards non regular players. It's not isolated to one staff member. It's most of them almost every time. I've seen people who wanted to try poker turn around and leave because the floor person made them feel like an idiot. It makes me appreciate the team you've put together at MGM even more. Please don't ever adapt whatever training Bellagio gives their staff, because your room is significantly better in customer interactions.

Bellagio has been that way since it opened.. Some of the rudest staff and dealers in the business.

Glad to know other people feel this way. I have yet to play in Bellagio because of this exact same feeling every time I attempted to play there or even just walk through the room now!

I think the assessment of Bellagio is a little unfair. It has changed significantly over the last several years.

Either way, the Bellagio has its own thread for discussion of its customer service. So let's keep it to that thread. Thanks.

Johnny 3 questions:
1. How many runners are typically in the Sunday tournaments?

2. When does it typically end?

3. Are the points standings posted anywhere online?

Thanks

Do they keep "points standings" for the Sunday tourney? If so, to what end?
