It depends. If you hate driving in traffic, stick with uber/public transit. There is plenty of coverage in any area you want to go to, and it's really convenient. Not sure about cost difference.

Also depends on when MGM starts charging for parking. If its by then, its much more economical for you to take Uber/Lyft to MGM.

Maybe a local geography nit too, but it sort of depends I guess on where in "Alexandria" you are staying. Not to be funny but you could be 60 seconds or 20 minutes from the front door. If you're staying in the Old Town area, Uber cant be more than a few bucks from there to MGMNH.

HORSE, 8 game mix, 2-7 TD.

JG implied this is not happening any time soon. I "started" this rumor just wondering what the hardware near the exits are for.

This is correct, I live in old town area which is what is colloquially known as alexandria, and Uber to MGM is convenient and cheap, and the metro is walking distance, so I have very little use for a car, but technically "alexandria" is very large. If you are walking distance to king street or eisenhower ave metro id say you should be fine without a rental car.

The one part of DC that isnt really metro accessable is Georgetown, otherwise you wont even need uber for dc.

I appreciate the position JG is in but I think even he would admit that a decision like this is not necessarily in his lane. Having followed the paid parking issue (in LV and elsewhere) from the beginning - and having read/followed MGMs Profit Growth Plan as closely as I can - MGM is not in the habit of installing revenue producing hardware and then letting it sit around. My guess is that the day they can turn it on and begin charging for parking they will.

However I have not seen the hardware itself to know what its for or how close it may be to completion.

Any particular reason there's only 1 person at the cage during a large Sunday tournament? Huge line.

7-STUD. 6-max NLHE.

Would love to see a BIG prize for points leader in a 4-game mix. Not HORSE in one tournament, but a compilation of trny point totals over four entries for PLO, Stud, NLHE, and LHE.

I would like to request a straight plo and or a 5card high. I can't believe they don't have a wsop event for 5card. I've never seen an event for 5card anywhere so it's an option for something new.

The twitter is buzzing with a rumor for a big field event announcement.

Fingers crossed!

Damn made the mistake of only looking to see that bravo said 22 tables running and assumed no list. Tournament is far too successful and the lists are long.

PSU I will trade my seat for some dough!

Jokes aside, JG I know you don't control the cashier cage, we need a separate counter just for tournaments like Borgata. It is ridiculous today.

It's painfully obvious that MGMNH will eventually host a WPT.

Their sister casinos, aria, borgata, and bellagio all host WPT events from time to time.

That's a good question . I will research and see what we can do to speed up the process.

Johnny,
Why does the cage require picture ID to be scanned to register for tournaments? This really delays the transactions. No other local casino does it, so it's not a Maryland thing. If you are trying to prevent 'ringers', this won't do it, because no ID or player's card is required when you finally get to your table, so 'anybody' with a paper slip for that seat could sit down.

Requiring picture IDs for both the cage and the table wouldn't be a bad idea.

Again, I will take a look at the registration process and see what we can do to speed it up. Not sure about the ID scanning, but will certainly investigate.

the equipment that is there now has been there for like a month, and the only change was they added a sign that says something like slow down. i just kept forgetting to ask what it was about.

Im sure that parking fees are coming within a year but id guess we got at least another 2 months based on JGs denial.

As I have said before, I have a feeling everyone will be pleasantly surprised in regards to how we handle our parking.

I think we should only be concerned about parking if we start seeing ticket machines going up at the exits.
