Guys, wanted to give you an update on our meeting with Mike Smith, Isle Poker Room Manager, and then I want to turn the thread over to him for everyone else to ask him questions.

The meeting went well. Mike wasn't available to share all of the room's details with us before the July 1 date, but he did disclose the following:

- The Isle will create a better rakeback/comp system for its regular players. That was obviously well-received -- this will be a competitive selling point between poker rooms in South Florida and Tampa, I'm sure.

- The Isle will have capped and uncapped cash games. Mike made it clear that the player base he has now will not be alienated and that there will be a cap on some tables to keep the game affordable. This was expected and it figures to be something standard at all SoFla poker rooms. Mike also said the room will have unique blinds in some of their games (1/3 and 10/25 to name two).

- Safety deposit boxes will be offered to certain players. Specifics weren't revealed.

- Mike did not expect The Isle, in its present state, to host large tournaments like WPT events. They're not built for it as it stands now.

Looking forward to Mike answering more of our questions.

Mike, I've heard great things about how the Isle is run. If you do start offering comps I'll probably take a weekend trip down there to check the place out (I live in Tampa, but would happily spend a weekend with family down there). I applaud your effort to have a presence on the forums. I look forward to visiting the place.

I wouldn't bet on it being taken down any time soon. I remember watching the whole thing on youtube over a year ago and then linked it to a friend a few months ago. For whatever reason the copy right holders aren't requesting it be taken down.

Except the guy who flatted me with KJ and left himself 1200 at 4/8 blinds. Then you proceed to find the king for him against my Queens.

I guess we are even after the beating you took from ash with me dealing.

I had a meeting at work I couldn't get out of, and I'm a fatty -- my back got the better of me and I needed to get home and rest. Worst part of all is that wife was willing to let me go and play and I couldn't. To be fair, I did text DoubleD18 to ask if you guys needed a 10th or wanted an 11th and he told me to stay away. Maybe he knew I'd take his chips.

Maybe we could do another meet-up in June? If so, we need to keep it unofficial.

Mike
Good to see you on here. Can you share what you expect the minimum and maximum buy-ins to be?
What games will have JP?
Will you go to $2 JP?
Thanks
Chub

We haven't completely settled on the mins and maxs for each game. As soon as we do, I'll post it. We will probably have JP for games up to 15-30 and 2/5 NL and we do not plan to take more than $1

We are planning the FSPC in August this year.

Comps will be up to $1.50 per hour depending on game type and limit or you'll be able to get 50% in cash back.

In a couple of days I'll post what minimum and maximum buy-ins we will start with. We are still gathering information from our players.

Thanks

We are still gathering information, but it looks like we'll have 2 1-2 NL. One at $50-$100 and the other at $100-$300. Our 2-5 game will be $200-$500, but we can certainly have deeper stack or shorter stack depending on business and what the players prefer. Our starting limit games will be 1-2, 2-4, 4-8, 6-12, 10-20, and 20-40, but again, we can improvise and change as needed, but we have to start someplace and this is what our players are telling us they want to play.
We will also offer a 5-10 and/or higher NL with min/max based on what the players want. PLO 1/2 and 2/5

We will take $1 Jp on most games. Our players have told us they want to be JP eligible.
We have free valet, will ramp up security, and expect to have some cash boxes for players.

I'll have more on the new comp policy when we get closer to July 1.

Thanks for your interest, take care

I wonder if that means everyone would be at the HR or the old Seminole on 7/1...

I would rather not give those clowns my business, but I may have to for one day.

can't remember.

There is a discount available at the Westin. Call me tomorrow 954-633-6618 and I'll give you the information.

We don't expect to start the higher stakes until July 1 at 9am. Due to our State Gaming Day, I'm not sure anyone can. Our normal hours will be the same as the casino's 9am - 3am 24 hours on the weekend.

Take care
