Yeah-

It would be interesting to know what percentage of players in the room are long time winners...

It seems that all of the 2+2 members are winning players and often talk about how soft the games are and how easy it is to win.. Which I find interesting as well.

Poker is an excuse that degenerate gamblers use to convince themselves they are making money and not throwing it away. If most “winning” players actually kept track they would see they are not even close. I used to think of myself as a crusher until I really started keeping track and realize I was break even at best. This realization really motivated me to put in the time and effort to study and now I’m winning half a big blind an hour.

Giving credit to the room today. I know they are short dealers because of charity tournament but they are doing a good job dealing with the huge lists.

Further giving credit for the team handling the charity tournament as well. Given the size of the field, the relative inexperience of the players, and the all day open bar, they handled it all very well. Great job for a great cause.

How regularly is the 8/16 LHE running now? Also, does the 20/40 ever go outside of the scheduled times?

On year 3 of tracking as a rec player and completely disagree. Tracking however did give information on tweaks I needed to make to my game. Sounds like you started off with bad habits and now educating yourself

This place hasn’t figured out in over two years that a government holiday means a busier room so they never schedule for extra dealers. Always the same crew just like any other normal day. Don’t get your hopes up.

The line on the far right is reserved for chip runners so they can get fills and keep games going.

The drink service last Friday night was hilariously bad fwiw, one guy at our table claimed he waited over an hour for his beer.

But that being said - with the new room I still dont understand *why* people are waiting so long for beers with the bar right there. Again this weekend, I got up, got my beer at the bar and was back at the table within the same hand.

Is there a reason people legitimately will wait an hour to pay $7 for a beer when you could pay the same $7 at the bar - and be back at your seat in a few minutes?

In Vegas I could understand it. You can put up with terrible service because you're getting free beers. But here?

1) They don’t know they can just go to the bar
2) they don’t expect the waitress to take an hour
3) they don’t want to get up and miss hands

But this shouldn’t even be a conversation. If MGM is going to offer waitressing services to the customers, that service should be reasonable enough that no one is considering going to the bar themselves to avoid it.

Oh I couldn't agree more. If you are going to bother staffing the room with cocktail servers then STAFF. THE. ROOM.

Anyone? I am coming into town tomorrow and would make the trek out for a regular LHE game. Have been watching Bravo and it looks like one 8/16 pretty much daily and the 20/40 only once a week. Is that right? I didn’t see anything higher being spread.

On a Monday you would be lucky to see even the 8-16. Larger mixed games sometimes run on the weekend.

White chips should play in all-ins at 2/5. The scenario where a player busts, leaves $3 in the seat for 15 minutes before the floor finally comes by and gives it to the dealer as a toke is far too common. Also this money should be bagged, not taken as a dealer toke.

Why would they ever take it from the player and give it as a toke?

In situations where the dealer changes, do they track down the busting dealer and award the toke to them?

I did the Wheel of Winners spin at the kiosk and got $75 free play.

But when I went to a video poker machine and tried to use this free play, it said something about not having enough points.

I only play poker, no table games or slots. Is this the holdup? Is it because video poker is excluded from free play? Or something else?

Not being a slots player, the same thing happened to me the first time I tried to use freeplay at MGM. I asked one of the slots players sitting next to me and found out the trick is you have to feed the machine a dollar bill and then it will let you load your freeplay onto the machine.

The cocktail service was so bad that night someone racked up and left because he couldn't get a water. Really frustrating. I wish they would just bring back self service waters and coffee like they had downstairs.

Also the bar is now shut down at 3am to avoid that rowdy crowd that comes in late night. Wouldn't be a huge issue, except you can't really find a cocktail server so I just started bringing in my own water thermos.

They should just play in all in situations to avoid the problem all together, not sure why they don't. But they used to take it and hold it, but no one ever came back to get it I believe so now the dealer just gets it.

if white chips don't play in all ins, they should not be able to be used to hold a seat.

Monday at 4pm and there's 40+ on the 1/3, they haven't opened a 5/T with 12 on the list, and there hasn't been a cocktail person in sight in 1.5 hours.

Anyone have an opinion on 9 handed? I notice higher wait lists...hard to say a little room is worth it from my limited play.

When I brought this up, everyone seemed to be of the mindset that this was a way to open more games on a slow night and more tables = more rake. Seemed like a win-win to me. I get more legroom and the casino gets more rake. But they are not running nearly enough games on the weekdays and the lists are a bit longer on the weekends. I’m still very pro 9 handed though as I am 6-4 and being next to other larger people was very uncomfortable.
