The recent discussion of tier credits got me thinking about a conversation I overheard at the table. Some visiting pro said he used his comps towards a room. Am I missing something? I play a whole lot but have always been under the impression that we can't apply poker comps towards amenities other than food.

Anyone think they know the reason for this apparent discrepancy?

Also, when you get back Johnny, why doesn't MGMNH do like Borgata and offer free rooms to its best customers?

MGM National Harbor has about 300 hotel rooms, Borgata has about 2000 hotel rooms.

It’s a supply versus demand issue.

Im pretty sure I already know the answers to these questions which is why I said using promo money to cover tourney overlays is a horrible and unfair practice.

LOL, no good deed goes unpunished.

MGM will pay, because I believe it is their clerical error.

As a 2+2 blog that caters to customers/patrons, what do you think the customer should do in this case? Keep quite because they got paid?

I am assuming the jackpot is not high enough, my assumption is based on the fact she only got $200 in free slot play. I am pretty sure the paper work/time she has to go through to get paid is far more than $200 in free slot play. The fact that she has to go through this additional trouble due to clerical error on MGM’s part is not fair to the customer.

The woman should get paid what she's owed. She also got comps for the screw-up, which was nice of MGMNH.

You said she should bring an additional lawsuit after that for exactly what I quoted. That's absurd. At least it seems like you're backing off that absurd position because you didn't mention it again in the above post.

Right and... perhaps they do, but the "best customers" line is wayyyy higher due to supply? I'd venture if you're dropping $2k-$5k per hand in the pits then maybe they'll find you a room.

I don’t get a feeling you are going to offer/mention any corrective action on behlaf of MGM. You seem to be happy that they offered the free play. If offering free play for their mistakes is acceptable, where is the incentive for improvement or minimizing their error.

This comes from the upper managers on down the line in the form of lectures on taking away from the bottom line.

The woman got her money.

Handed to her by the Vice President of Slot Operations.

Article doesn't say how/if the casino got the money back from Maryland’s Human Services agency.

The mistake cost MGMNH time, effort, and money in addition to the freeplay expected value. Or did you think that MGMNH just threw up its hands when the error was discovered and moved on as if nothing happened?

Thanks Angus for the update.

You are right Rapini from reading the artice, as written and posted, MGM threw up their hands once the error was discovered.

I guess it is a mute point now as she got paid by VP Slot Machines.

Not for the lower stakes games like 1/2NL.

I am pretty sure that he is talking about one dollar/3 dollars no limit at MGMNH, and you appear to be talking about two dollars/5 dollars no limit and higher at Borgata.

I would suggest that anyone who runs into an issue like this consult a licensed attorney about potential compensation for damages incurred rather than internet wizards talking out their ass about what is and isnt absurd.

Everyone arguing about the guarantees coming out of the BBJ, thats been discussed already, and Johnny changed the procedure to make it fairer to cash game players. As an exclusive cash game player, I am happy with the solution.

Thank God!

I hated the 5 lucky seat promo every half-hour.

I guess if they want they can change the promo midway in a month. That is nice to know.

If that works for you, cool, but I'll pass.

I'm only weekend player, I'm curious, are we getting a few shortdeck cash tables running during the week?
