Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer. This reply does not constitute legal advice.

Anything outside of handicap designated parking spots are largely unenforceable under the law (HEV, Low emissions, expectant mothers, 15 minute parking).

Sure, being a private property, they can probably tow, but I would imagine they need to put up significant and ugly signage both at the garage entrance and in the spots themselves. Not to mention I think the cons outweigh the pros for a place like MGM to be towing anyone not in a fire lane.

"Parking for fuel efficient vehicles" signs are especially bogus. There is no standard. I park here every-time because my 20 MPG sports car is considered ultra efficient compared to my quarter-mile per gallon top fuel eliminator. I also snicker when I see SUVs and trucks parked in the "Compact Car only" spots. Good for them. Fight the power.

As for the charging stations, that's a shame. If I created spots for charging, or owned a car that needed charging, I would hope that they would be at the far ends of the garage to persuade only people that want/need to use it to park there.

Actually, there definitely are "standards" for fuel efficient vehicles when it comes to commercial parking. LEED and the Green Building Council both publish official industry standards. They may not be well publicized but they do exist. In my agency - where we all need parking hang tags - you can apply for an LEV parking pass if your car exists on one of these lists - I forget offhand which one we use.

As far as it being instituted at a public place like MGMNH, its much more difficult.

Same with compact car spaces. Most agencies come up with standards for spaces as well - in our case compact vehicle spaces are for 177 inches and under. In our garage, compact spaces are at the end of rows for a reason - so it would be a giant dick move for a pickup to park there.

Regardless, those types of restrictions are not enforceable legally.

I guess I should have clarified, "legal" standard?

I'm sure there is a "standard" for what constitutes a shape-shifting reptilian humanoid, but that's not what I was discussing.

Hey Johnny,

I didn't know you get a refund after you lost a 2.2k pot. I was playing 5-5 5 card PLO yesterday at the main game (table 34?) and seat 6 and 8 ran it twice all in and the 2.2k pot was shipped to seat 6. We then played 2 more hands and seat 8 realized it was a chop pot so the floor was called to look at the video tape but before the floor went to the tape, they removed 1.1k from seat 6 and put in the dealer's tray. After 20 minutes later and the floor came back and refunded 1.1k back to seat 8 for the chop.

Here are the hands:

Seat 6: 10 10 4 xx
Seat 8: x x x K 8

Board: 10 8 x K and the first river 10
second river K

As you can see seat 6 made quads on top and seat 8 made K full at the bottom and here are my questions:

1) Is this allow or legal at all? What if seat 6 won and left right the way, does he have to pay back next time when he plays? These are regs that we see all the time.

2) When the floor removed 1.1k from seat 6 and put in the dealer tray, is seat 6 still playing behind 1.1K? If so, what if he went all in and lost? Does he have to pull out his cash and refund seat 8 1.1k if the floor ruled against seat 6 when he lost all in? What if he doesn't have the money to pay back?

3) This is a time rake game and we wasted 15 minutes to hear about seat 8's complaints to two supervisors so why not pull the two out and talk it over? Do we get a refund too for the time rake? We didn't.

I drive a hybrid and avoid those fuel efficient spaces like the plague. I feel like I'd be asking for my car to get ****ed with if I parked in one of those.

Looking at the Tuesday 11:00AM NLHE tourney 12/19. Can someone give me an idea of how many runners it normally gets? Also, about how long before it is down to final table? (Yeah, that's optimistic but I need an upper bound on my time.)

If there is a place I can find that kind of info, a pointer would be great too.

Thanks in advance for any info.

First time playing a tourney in the cash room.

Initial thoughts:

1. The tables in the tourney area are WAY too close

2. The skill of dealers ranges from amateur to decent

3. It’s kind of hard to breathe in here

4. I love How they show NFL Redzone

So, can we have table 10 win a few more lucky table draws? I don't think they've won it enough.

Thanks to posts here I found the bravo poker app. So I can see there were 168 runners today (Sunday) and it has a slower structure. I'm not going to get a datapoint on the Tuesday tourney in time to help me, so still looking for some history

Monday and Wednesday are more popular. On these days they mostly get 50+. Depending on the FT situation it usually ends at 6-6:30.

Tuesday and Thursdays are little lighter, 40-45ish. Ends between 5-6.

They need to have 51+ to get 9 spots paid.

I noticed the Sunday tourney with the bigger field and longer levels was still going at 11pm.

Knowing the weekday tournaments generally finish before the last train South is a big help.

Thanks for the info

A guy in my 2-5 game just now tried to go north with TWO PUMPKINS. How seriously is this treated? What should the punishment be?

What did the floor say when you called him/her over?

In my opinion, this is a minimum 24-hr ban with explanation just so the floor can cover his/her ass in the ultra-unlikely event that the offender truly didn't know he/she was breaking the rules.

I have seen this happen multiple times and the floor just giving a warning. This has to be treated more seriously and dealers need to be paying more attention and not let the players police each other!!

The first floorman I spoke to said he would "keep an eye on it", which is obvious BS. The second floor guy I told about it, who I have had issues with in the past, handled it much more seriously (to his credit). He worked with me to figure out who the dealer was and he called another player over to corroborate my story. Not sure what came of it though as I had to leave.

On a different topic: I called the poker room five times between 5:00 and 5:30 this morning and there was no answer.

It means adding two orange chips worth 1k each. So adding an additional 2k in chips to current stack

Two pumpkins is pretty ballsy. Those chips stick out like a sore thumb. Should definitely be a ban.

54 runners (or maybe that included rebuys) on Tuesday 12/19. Game moved fast most of the time. Dealers were all fine - no complaints here. Structure was good with plenty of time to play before the blinds started to dominate, plus a little extra aggression/loose play during the first hour when a rebuy was still available.

I don't have a lot of live experience to compare it to, but seemed well run. Dealers folded cards from guys who couldn't put down their phones and they were super serious about not acting out of turn or showing cards while hand was live - they were not messing around. I liked that they were firm and non-ambiguous with the rules.

It's just a tad too far for me to do it very often (just under 2 hour train ride from Richmond, and MGM is a only short public bus ride or around $15 uber from Alexandria Station). Makes for a fairly long day trip though

Definitely recommend it.

So you saw the guy go north. Then you told the dealer what you saw, the dealer called the floor, and the floor said, "I'll keep an eye on it"?
