Last Saturday night a railbird grabbed $500 in cash off of a 1/3 NL table and bolted for an exit. This was money that a new player had just laid down to join the game at one of the tables that is nearby the cashier and bordering the row of slots there.

Money in hand, the individual bolted for the door with the player close behind.

I was not able to find out if the thief was apprehended, but figure he was, based on the amount of commotion this seemed to cause, and the rows of uniformed officers guarding the casino's exits.

I was wondering if anyone can confirm the outcome of this event, whether it suggests any change to security practices may be warranted and/or if players, especially on the rails, should take extra precaution in light of this.

I can’t imagine how stupid you have to be to steal in a casino. There are cameras and security everywhere. I’m sure the scumbag was caught and the player got his money back.

Confirmed. PG county Police had a good chat with him. Victim received their entire stack back after verification. Perp went down and the stack flew all over the casino floor...

For anyone interested in Pink Chip LHE (7.50/15), I'm working to get a game together this Saturday, the 25th, at or around 9:00 a.m. (Look for the "8-15 LHE" list of interest, which I hope to have up by 8:30.)

Table will be Hot Table eligible.

All promos and regular daily tourneys are cancelled during the Potomac Poker Open. We will still spread the game, but there will be no Hot Table promo.

Thanks for the info, Johnny. Is this stated on Bravo? I don't see it. You could have a lot of disappointed players on your hands.

For weeks now the information on Bravo has either been incorrect or incomplete. Whatever new information does come out is usually late. Don’t depend on Bravo for this place.

Can we make it 10-20 with pink chips? 7.5/15 is too close to 4-8, and I have a bunch of players interested in 10-20. I was planning on starting this game regularly after January First.

I was playing 1-3 and wanted to move to my wife's table. Front podium said it would be a very long time, although I could let them know when there was a seat 'since you would know a lot sooner than we would.'. I observed what seemed to be an open seat and asked the dealer, who immediately commented that I was obviously jumping tables. It turns out they were waiting for a player to return. 15 mins later the same seat was open, and one of the players at the table asked for the floor to check on time. I followed the floor back to the back podium where he told me I could take the seat. The new dealer then berated me in a raised voice about not telling him what was going on and then asked if I was next up. The impression I got was the process isn't quite clear and dealers are a little stressed about it or about getting yelled at if they don't stop people from cutting the line.

I don't have an issue doing 10/20 after this Saturday. I know at least some from my group would play; however, since I've already worked to get buy-in for 7.50/15 for this week, I'm going to stay the course for now. If on Saturday the majority wants to do 10/20 instead, let's do it.

If you're serious about a regular 10/20, we should combine mailing lists. I don't seem to have PM privileges at this point, I assume because my account is new, but let's get in touch at some point.

Excited about the tourneys coming up, was wondering if anyone has an opinion on which of the event 1 days will be the softest. I was thinking if playing day 1B (and 1D if i bust in 1B). I regularly stay up until 4 AM or later so i figured i might have an advantage over poeple who dont in the later parts of the tourney day, but was worried thats also true of the pros and good players.

Sounds good. I think the group is thinking 10-20 pink chips on Monday evenings with a time charge (not jackpot eligible). Starting January 8th.

Just curious, in a 10/20 game, why not use red chips?

All things being equal, a 4-chip/8-chip game tends to run bigger than a 2-chip/4-chip game.

Johnny, can this game be accommodated? 10-20 pink with a $5 time charge on Monday, January 8th and every Monday after that? I have a big list of people who want to play.

Thanks in advance.

JG after busting the tournament I was seated just in time for the 2:15 drawing.

I picked the right table, but, was on the wrong seat. Even after announcing so many times that these seats are non transferable, the individual seems to be clueless and was planning to unload his seat for at least 1K.

BTW thanks for the $100 for being seated at the table and drooling for the ME seat.

So this 7.50/15 is a "sure thing" for Sat. morning (meaning you have a group of reliable players committed to show up)?

I know attempts up here at both HSB and MDL have failed frequently despite the attempt at promotion on these boards.

This could give me motivation to dodge my chores Saturday and finally make the trek down there!

Johnny,

Will there be cameras over the tables and security to prevent these sort of shenanigans at the Potomac Poker open? Since the event is in the upstairs conference room away from Casino floor.

I tend to go for a walk during breaks and if I need to clear head (don’t care about missing a couple of hands). Would like to ensure my stack is safe while I am away.

Thanks.

Cameras do not prevent shenanigans from occurring.

During breaks in tournaments, dealers should remain at the tables.

Only death and the rake are certain! Ok in seriousness, here is what I know:

-I've spoken directly to 12 Saturday 4/8 regulars this month, who all agreed to play 7.50/15.
-Since then I have had 3 confirm for this Saturday via email, plus one "maybe." Plus myself and non-responsive stragglers, let's bring the estimate conservatively to 6 or 7 players.
-MGM will 100% support this game this Saturday, but they want to know that this is a serious thing. Apparently there's red tape involved with bringing out the extra chips to support both us and Omaha. This Saturday might be our best shot for a long time to build some momentum for this game.

I'm willing to play short handed to get the ball rolling and hopefully attract attention. I'm also curious to know whether Crazy Joe and some of his posse might show.

Have some faith Bmore!

Cameras do not prevent shenanigans. We will have camera coverage over every table. We will also have 24/7 security in the room along with a PG county police officer.

I don't think I can play the pink game this Saturday morning but I will let people know about it.
