Yeah it just says “Priority Access for Valet and Taxi Service” atm for plat my bad. It also has a different layout on that rewards/benefits page than the last time I looked. It was listed before for complementary valet:

MGMNH:
[ ]gold
[x]plat
[x]noir

Vegas properties:
[x]gold
[x]plat
[x]noir

Can we just play for a certain amount of time and have parking validated?

I really hope there is a plan in place to finally offer tier credits to poker players - or at least status update upon X amount of hours played.

Johnny said last year that this was coming. But since its been @ 10 months, I'm not really counting on it any time soon. Its probably right after automatic comp loading or a self checkin/comp kiosk lol.

BTW I'm sure its not his fault. But the acceptance of charging $12-15 for parking would be a bit different if players knew that there was a way for them to earn their way towards free parking that didnt involve dropping money into a slot machine.

Just IMO.

Ideally they will do the same as their Vegas properties where 75 hours gets you free parking for the year, retroactively counting hours played. I'm not holding my breath though. My biggest concern is that the traffic on weekends will be totally unbearable now as it already is insane. Adding a process to get in/out of the garage is certainly not going to help.

^^ I'm concerned about the casual player who only plays a few times a month. Would be nice if he could validate his parking after playing for a couple hours as he probably won't hit any kind of tier status or long-term hours target.

There is another MGM property about 200 miles away that has valet parking at no charge for Pearl and above.

Pearl and higher gives you free self parking.

Yeah I am Sapphire. I assume getting the credit card would be the cheapest way to be upgraded to Pearl.

I really like the parking validation idea. Would be awesome if Johnny is supportive.

I also am not a big tour player. But from what I do know, those three rules are very standard in tours

Most tours use TDA standard.

You all know that how comps work, how status from poker works, how parking works is all beyond Johnny's direct control right?

I'm 100% sure he's advocating for what's best for the players and the room.

Of course. I think we just want a little more information. JG is generally awesome at communication and transparency, but we haven't heard anything for a while on this subject.

Yeah but the parking situation around Borgata and MGMNH are pretty different.

And if your register for a tourney or say a PPO event, can you get a parking voucher? (If parking $ is implemented by the PPO.)

Here is a picture of the new parking gates. A dealer told me she thinks the parking rate is going to be $5 but I’m not sure if that’s accurate. Honestly I think this is a poor move. It’s going to sway the people who are 50/50 on Live and MGM to go to Live.

Researching our intentions on parking as we speak. I will have some guidance on this soon.

We are not currently charging for parking.

If the parking garage were being filled to capacity on weekends, or if commuters or visitors to other businesses were using it, there might be some justification to start charging for parking, but otherwise it comes off as petty, cheap, and unnecessary. Making it so obvious that your overriding goal is to extract as much money as possible from every visitor to the property seems classless of MGM. What’s next, removing all the urinals from men’s rooms and henceforth offering only pay-per-use toilets?

We generally fill the garage to capacity every Friday/Saturday night, and any night we have a show in the theater.

There are casinos that don't want to "extract as much money as possible from every visitor"?

Based on the "have you paid for parking yet?" signs and newly installed (albeit not currently in use) parking machines, it's pretty clear that they plan to start charging soon.

Well yeah, but I am wondering if poker players can get it comped by having a certain number of hours for the year or something like that.
