This month is the first I've seen the room not be full spread on Friday and Saturday evening. Hard to tell if that's partially affected by the weather and the WSOP but I suspect a big driver is the morning promos.
Worked well for me. I was looking to play Saturday evening and normally would have to go to MDL to avoid long waits but was able to play at MGM with immediate seating (1/3).
I mean, it was great for me. Games were tougher than normal, as in... id rate the difficulty 1.5/10 rather than the typical 0/10, but the promo was very EV+. Im actually down for the month, but i dont expect that to last. As for whether they are stealing their own friday evening crowd, at least for me, I typically chase the promos, and probaly prefer weekdays to weekends. Also, I expect I will play more than i typically do, I am thinking ill end up coming 7 times this month, i normally come maybe 2-5 times a month, although maybe for longer average sessions.
