Collecting a percentage of tournaments for bbjp would do that or not using bbjp money to cover overlays are the only two fair options IMO
As I said in an earlier post, I am looking at the option to withhold a small percentage from tourney prize pools to cover this, as well as the cost of the monthly leaderboard.

Apologies if (when/where) I missed this.

Is there any way to check online how many poker comp hours/dollars we have? Or is there another way?

/random question over.

Every time I ask for comps, I also ask my balance.

No way to check online. Must do so in person.

Really? Just 18...? That's just 8.6%. Seems rather low. Only paying that many places first place must've paid close to $25k?

I doubt if many pay 40% for first in a tournament with 100+ entries.
It was $15447

Since it was a re-entry tournament, my guess is that they based the number of places on the number of unique entries.

I'm sure it's added players in net so that's good but it also seems to have shifted some players who would have played afternoon/evening to arriving earlier. I'm not sure if the same player is worth more to the room on a Friday night than that player is worth to the room on a Friday morning.

This month is the first I've seen the room not be full spread on Friday and Saturday evening. Hard to tell if that's partially affected by the weather and the WSOP but I suspect a big driver is the morning promos.

Worked well for me. I was looking to play Saturday evening and normally would have to go to MDL to avoid long waits but was able to play at MGM with immediate seating (1/3).

I thought this was strange too. Check the payout structure on the web site. > 150 players pays 18 spots, regardless of whether there are 155 or 225 entries. Btw, there were 206.

Maybe they didn't foresee a much higher demand than 150 entries and made the payout structure accordingly. If the tournament regularly exceeds that number of entries, perhaps JG could consider adding another few tiers to flatten it out a bit.

Yeah you'd think for anything over 200 they'd pay 21-24 places. Maybe it is because they haven't quite made that layout structure yet

This has been addressed. We didn't anticipate more than 180-190 runners. New payout (Effective July) calls for another tier of payouts at 200 plus.

We have seen a sharp increase in morning business, and the promo has been a net positive. We are down about 3 games in HL that we would normally have. I imagine many of those players are in Vegas. In addition, revenue for this market from 2015/2016 indicates a weaker May/June, with a very strong July/August.

Scary moment just now as someone seated at a poker table had a seizure. Response from security was painfully slow.

Second time in three years I have seen this in a poker room.

Hopefully he is okay.

Johnny, two things about your tournaments:

1. I was watching tonight's final table (Green Chip Bounty) because one of my friends made the final five. I thought that the floor guy supervising the tournament was behaving somewhat unprofessionally because he kept hovering around (I know he is in charge of payouts) and making jokes with the dealer/players while play was going on. Granted, it wasn't a big tournament with lots of $$$ on the line (winner got less than $1,800) but I think the players should be given some respect and the dealer should not be distracted by anyone or anything, and certainly not an MGM poker room employee. I think some of the players were somewhat surprised at the continued interactions between the dealer and floor but as far as I know, nobody said anything. It would have bothered me if I was at the FT. If you want, you can PM me for the floor's name.

2. Do the results of your new Sunday tournament get sent to Hendon Mob?

Thanks.

I mean, it was great for me. Games were tougher than normal, as in... id rate the difficulty 1.5/10 rather than the typical 0/10, but the promo was very EV+. Im actually down for the month, but i dont expect that to last. As for whether they are stealing their own friday evening crowd, at least for me, I typically chase the promos, and probaly prefer weekdays to weekends. Also, I expect I will play more than i typically do, I am thinking ill end up coming 7 times this month, i normally come maybe 2-5 times a month, although maybe for longer average sessions.

Agreed on point one. Unless its of a business nature, those conversations shouldn't happen. I am guilty of this at times, and I will stress to the staff that we need to do a better job on this.

Point 2, not yet, but we will begin to submit all results with a buy in greater than $300 to them this month.

Enjoyed the high hand promo yesterday but for most of the time I was there they left the tournament clock on top of the high hand counter. In the future is there any way to maybe just put that up on half the screens?

And if we don't want our names forwarded to some random online database, what do we do to opt out of that?

Pretty sure that was tech difficulties and not part of their plan.
