That was me... we had a list and I sent out emails to the players on 3 or 4 occasions. I got zero response on the 3rd and 4th try. If anyone can get me a live list that will respond and show up, I will be happy to coordinate and spread games any day, any time.

Past few weeks I've posted in here talking about willing to consistently play 10/20 LHE, 20/40 at times, and I've always been looking for more people willing to play a mix game consistently from 4/8-10/20 as well, in the hopes that if the game is at least 6/12 it can be ran with a time charge like some other places do.

I know JohnnyG has been supportive of it, but no one seems to show up, or is able to get together for consistent times.

I played in that game yesterday. Practically everyone was sitting at least $2K deep, some a lot more. I'm not that familiar with limit games, but given how deep everyone was (and the fact that it was a full game plus wait list), I wouldn't be surprised if they end up making it larger than 20/40.

Why does it matter how deep everyone is in a limit game?
Though whenever I would play 20/40 at Borgata, it would annoy me when people would buy in for 5+ racks, just because it made the table so crowded.

I would def be interested in playing some 10/20 LHE, or even a mixed game of any of the stakes you mentioned as well.

Is that all-in? I call.

I would assume that people that buy in for way more than they need would be OK or even encourage upping the stakes.

Also, we weren't even using $20 chips for some reason, just normal 5/25/100/1000.

You'd never use $20 chips in a 20/40 game. $10 chips maybe. But everywhere I've ever played 20/40, it's been entirely a red chip game.

As a weekend regular in both Borgata and Foxwoods 20 games, I can confidently state is is EXTREMELY rare for someone to initially buy into a game with 5 racks. The norm is two or 3 racks (1k - 1.5k). With some short stacking lower, and very rarely a larger initial but-in. And while nl folks think it is just limit, variance is a lot higher than 5-10 nl. 800$+ pots are common at times. 80+% of hands go to river; many multi-way. In mid NL fewer hands even see flop and only 20% see river, and few multi-way.

People sitting on 6+ racks of chips have won, others have rebought -when low. Building a castle is fun. Two trips to the window to cashout 10 racks is a good problem.

The game is fun, give it a try.

How quickly does the 4/8 list tend to move on a Friday night? Only one table being spread. Got the night off and live 10 min away and would kinda like to splash around for a couple hrs. Also don't really feel like NL tonight.

Heard a rumor that the room is moving upstairs. I wouldn't mind either way, but any merits to this?

It was pretty clear that he hadn't heard it from someone else and that he was just making up something since he was very specific and very sure of the details, yet the details would change. Also, even though the room is really busy, its a red flag when people are saying the new room will be upstairs because its going to be over 100 tables. Another 10 tables would put a serious dent in the lines. I doubt MGM would invest in 100+ tables. 5 more 1-3 tables would take a 90 person/hour and a half+ wait down to a much more manageable 45 mins at peak time. I'm sure Johnny could find ways to fill more tables with tourneys, but I'm not sure that would justify the investment beyond what it takes to get the Saturday night crowd under control. I hope either the demand moderates a bit or they do add a few tables, but not a complete change of venue as the rumor mill is spinning.

The demand is already moderating and I only expect it to continue. There are a lot of new regs so the average number of tables running in the region will be up for sure but there's still a lot of new non-regs (or soon to be non-regs) that are visiting MGM.

The big appeal to "upstairs" to me is to get the room away from the slots noise. I'm not sure that'd be a huge plus though because we'd also get even further away from the food. Ideally we'll get some improvement in the comps and the food runner service anyway.

107 tables, huh? That would be a waste of space/resources. Not gonna happen.

While I don't like a lot of noise, I disagree that moving upstairs would be an improvement. Its really nice to have the room feel like its part of the rest of the venue. its increases the diversity of the player base for sure. Either way, the room is a long walk from the food, so it will be a challenge for MGM to improve the food service dramatically either way.

Given all the service (food/drink)...uhm...difficulties that they are occasionally still facing, I cant imagine ramping up the number of tables just yet. Any issues they are having would just be magnified. Would much rather see those get ironed out first although as was pointed out above - I dont yet see how thats going to be possible with regards to the food service delivery.

I did see a pretty exasperated 2-5 dealer yesterday who asked why the host was constantly telling new players to buy chips at the table when they wouldn't give the tables a reasonable starting fill. First time I've seen a dealer get outwardly frustrated. Pretty good point. When people are mostly buying in for $800-1000, "buying in" at the table isnt happening when 80%+ of your rack is $1 chips. Much easier to buy at the cage which is what most of us were encouraging the other players to do, barely takes a couple minutes. Curious.

Also saw a pretty decent brawl in the parking lot Sunday afternoon when I was leaving. Police/security - including a K9 officer - rushed out from the elevator lobby ahead of me, group of people was just fighting in the aisles holding up traffic. I didnt see how they shut it down but there were a ton of women that started screaming.

Not even a weekend late night - this was middle of a Sunday afternoon.

The church-going crowd riled up after a good sermon, perhaps?

That noise is the noise of degens right next door to the poker room, a mere moment away from a spur of the moment decision to degen money to us. I like that noise.

Hi Johnny:

Usually play twice a week - once either W or Th evenings and once on Fri afternoons.

It's been my experience that food runner service works perfectly on W, Th whereas on Fri afternoon, it's a total breakdown. Once it was a 3 hr wait and once once he never showed up over 5 hours. I politely mentioned it to the floors but they don't seem to be able to do. Anything.

Are you aware of the severity of the issue? I wanted to bring it to your attention so you can address

Everything else works fine and I really love the room, the dealers and the floors

Thanks

Appreciate the input. We have issues with turnover in that area, as well as ongoing IT issues. The team and I are working on a solution to this issue as we speak.

JG lost a Q High Str8 Flush with 30 Seconds left on the clock to Royal. Not a happy camper.

The reason provided was that the hand started in the previous hour and will be counted towards the previous hour. Can we do something about this? At the other place they mark the time when the hand is tabled.

It seems like this would be the most fair way to do it. Imagine getting a royal that was dealt before the promotion period was over but you didn't get to show it down until 30 seconds after. Using the beginning of the hand as the qualifying time takes away any doubt regarding which hands qualify for which time frame. It also seems like it would get rid of any stalling silliness that sometimes happens other places.

Maybe I'm missing something in my analysis though.
