Whether or not you prefer uncapped games, it is important that a room that does have caps enforces them. I tend to agree with you and don't mind uncapped games or people going north between hands but if it is the room policy that there is a buy in cap then it only hurts the rec players and honest players. In the interest of protecting the integrity of the game a room with buy in caps needs to police going north. This is admittedly way harder to control then policing people adding chips mid hand.

That being said, I don't want to derail this thread too far away from actually talking about MGMNH. Thanks again Johnny for weighing in on how you plan on handling certain situations.

If the lack of tolerance for cheaters extends to lack of tolerance for abusive players it'll make me happy and sway the decision on where I'm going on any particular day. For the most part players in the region are well behaved but there are a few that make it feel like the bad old days in AC and the whole Will Kassouf thing on TV has me worried we're going to be seeing more "speech play" artists.

You'll be happy to watch our shift managers and their version of speech play. It's usually accompanied by a frown and an empty rack or 2.

Going north on middle of a hand with nuts should be immediate permaban, IMO. Flexible progressive system sounds good.

I'm for buyin caps (deep caps though), no matching big stack. Helps protect the health of the game long term.

That seems like the strongest guess, but given Johnny's earlier-stated amenability to deep-stack games, it'd be somewhat disappointing. Continuing with my non-reality-based optimism, I'm going to guess it's the cap for 1-3NL, with the 2-5NL cap being 1200 or 1500. If the Vegas poker/tourist economy can sustain caps like that (see, e.g., Wynn), it seems like the DC poker/tourist economy could, too.
