The dealer made a mistake. The players at the table aren't obligated or responsible for making sure that player has chips.

Things like this happen from time to time. It's not that big of deal unless this specific dealer has a pattern of making mistakes like this.

Today I sat down and did not see a waitress in my area for just under an hour. That was at Table 6, pretty much front and center of the main floor. Of the three times I got drinks two of them I left the table to go hunt down the waitress. Pretty sure the issue is that they just don't have enough staff working.

If that's the biggest complaint I ever have about the room though I will be plenty happy playing here.
Go to the bar. Problem solved.

Mike, any idea when the November tournament schedule will be out?

Would love to see more low buy in, longer level event(s). I know you are more focused on cash games and profit, but tournament guys need love too!

Love the Monday & Wednesday tournaments.

I actually think all this makes the mistake more inexcusable. The previous hand reloader was all-in = attention from dealer. Then dealer has to confirm reloader will reload vs leave (more attention), then call for a runner for reloader, then announce he's playing behind, and take a mental note of the invisible straddle.
How you do all this and then forget about it 7 folds and 1 raise later is beyond me.

From some previous posts it sounds like the answer to this is yes, but just to confirm:
Does cash play @ MDL?

No, it doesn't. You can sell 100 from your stack and immediately give to the chip runner to get you chips, but no one is putting $100 bills into pots or keeping them on the table.

I'm sure they are working on this and it will get better, but in the meantime you can always go to the bar to get a drink. Especially since you were what, three tables away from the bar?

Dear Mike,

First, allow me to once again Thank YOU for a quality poker room, so close to home.

Second, I'd like to plead with you to please, please, please encourage the poker room staff members responsible for scanning Bravo on the monitor for open seats, and calling names of players to fill those seats, to GIVE FULL ATTENTION TO THAT TASK.

On numerous occasions, after signing up and not hearing a name called for 5 to 10 minutes (literally), I've walked to that podium, looked down on that same Bravo screen and pointed out to those staff members that there are numerous seats open, particularly on tables which are hosting the game that I am waiting on.

Maybe it would be a good idea to assign 1 staff person to commit to "just calling names," not signing people up, not making people cards, not answering questions regarding who is where on a list, etc., "just calling names" for a 30 minute period, and rotate the rest of the staff in 30 minute intervals to perform this same task, as well.

I'm heading up this evening and am sincerely hoping that while I am waiting, I never hear a lull in names being called unless every seat in the house is filled.

Well, I can dream, can't I?

See ya at the tables . . .

it's Friday...you are going to hear a lull in names as the wait lists grow well over 100 people per list...

even on a Friday, and if you've ever stood at the registration podium/counter/brush stand (or whatever it's called) and looked onto the Bravo monitor, you will see there is NEVER a time that all of the tables are the same color (i think it's blue), indicating that all seats are filled

thus, if all seats are NOT filled, and there are [i think] yellow tables, then names should be called

At some point they will realize that they need to call more than one name to fill an empty seat, it will be a glorious day!

There is good food available, but not that you can get table side and not that you can get with comps. I recommend Nandos chicken or Bobby's burgers.

Only thing worth it at the tables is Rise N Shine breakfast.

I am still a big advocate of the singapore rice noodles...it has been the only thing I have ordered in addition to the Rise N Shine. I do not get pork with the rice noodles, but it has always been a large portion, with fresh peppers and onions and shrimp. And as of late it has been arriving super fast.

HOWEVER, I am still shocked there isn't a single salad available on the menu...this is horrible.

In terms of the food service, I know that the room was working to see if we could use comps at Bobby's and the Cheesecake Factory. In the interim, I think it would be a good idea to allow them to deliver to the poker room phone orders. They could make available menus in the room and we could phone them in and pay. This could work with other local places. Again, I'm not talking about using comp dollars for these places but just have other options to order from and have delivered to the poker room.

I ordered the fish tacos last time I was there. They're pretty good, or at least they were when I ordered them.

Also I've found both food and drink service to be better when you pay and tip in advance.

Takes less time to receive your order that way imo.

Bingo!

I've been the past 4 days (just busted out of the PLO $60 tournament, good tourney BTW), and I've felt the same way. I do applaud the staff for getting more waitresses. There are way more than there was just 1-2 weeks ago.

Why would the casino allow outside restaurants to deliver on site? It's a business... MD Live owns Prime Rib, noodles, and Phillips. They have a partnership with Bobbys and Cheesecake factory.

There is no way they are going to sacrifice a valuable revenue stream so that poker players have more choice in what they eat.

I can understand your point for outside Restuarants but I don't think there is a way to have Bobby or CCF deliver to the room. I'm asking that at least a delivery option for those two places be included so we would have more options outside of what is being offered now.

Some people have special diets (e.g. Vegan, diabetic, etc) and unless they are going to allow people to pack their outside lunch and bring in, the options they have now are very limited to others.

Are you saying you want MDL waitresses to take orders for Bobby or CCF food?
