Is this correct,.???

Where are you getting the 600 points per hour for poker? And at what game levels are points earned? Mike, can you confirm?

mike has said $1/hr for ALL lvls for now.

no idea where 366 heard 600pts/hr but it makes sense since u can convert 600 slot points to $1

And you typically won't see the speed trap until you're on top of it because they situate themselves under the overpass.

Very good tip Z.

I got selected from that random drawing to participate in the ceremonial first hand tomorrow. Any other 2+2ers?

I did not apply to be in the ceremonial first hand for a few reasons. First, it will be tough for me to get there by noon (or earlier if they do that hand before noon) - I'll arrive a bit after lunchtime tomorrow. But also, it doesn't specify what game will be played. I mean, I'm guessing it will be like a 1-2 NL game, and I'm anticipating that a few people who win the honor of playing the first hand will also want to earn the honor of winning the first hand. I'm guessing someone will min buy in and shove preflop. And possibly several people will call. It would be cool to be in the very first hand at ML after it officially opens, but if my guess is right and several people are just going to shove all-in, well, that just seems weird.

Dave, good points. However, the first hand has already been played at Live. The marketing team kind screwed this up in a sense because this should have happened yesterday. At that point, real money was being played. My .02 cents.

If you have a smartphone you should check out the traffic app 'WAZE' you can use it as a GPS to get around traffic plus it has user input for cops, construction, accidents etc. So it is very up to date. I love it for long trips and the daily commute and its free!

Especially since FD is just an hour away in Fredneck. I'll chime in with everyone else in thanking Mike and saying great soft opening. My house is a whopping 10 minutes away so it's great having the part time job that close. My wife hates it already and the doors don't open until tomorrow at noon for real

The beer selection is "standard" for the area. Not sure which distributor they're dealing with. Given their current selection, I suspect (but do not remember if) they would/will have Loose Cannon (from Heavy Seas) or Raging Bitch, from Flying Dog brewery.

Watch out for the Raging Bitch if they do have it...it's quite strong.

Actually, looks like Mellinger is the distributor.

WAZE is a fantastic app and it does show where the cops are even if they are hidden. Since it is crowd sourced its up to you to post where these things are which then allows everyone else to avoid the problems whether they are accidents, traffic or speed traps.

hello mike,

had a great time yesterday. everything went smoothly and i was very impressed. the only things that i noticed that could use improvement:

1) the televisions are so low. not even sure if that's possible to change, but man, i've never heard poker players agree on the same thing as much as this.

2) chip runners were wearing the same color shirt as dealers. if they had on a designated chip runner shirt, they would be much easier to spot.

3) i didn't mind the music, but it seemed most people thought it was too loud.

4) 7 dollar hot dogs.

keep up the good work bruhhhh.

I think most places consider their "grand opening" to be their opening date, even if there is a soft opening. Their web page currently says "Live! Poker Starts August 28 at noon." I would be a little surprised if their marketing department dictated this without input or correction from upper management. If you think about it, it would provide worse publicity if the general public were to find out that they were "open" and didn't tell their customers than to simply have a soft opening.

Yeah. In fact they need us to get there by 10:15am (geez) to check-in and sign media releases. Almost enough to discourage me, and yeah, I don't expect the first hand to be profoundly meaningful, but what the heck, it sounds fun. Plus it guarantees that I have no wait for my seat though I expect it'll be $1/$2 NL and I'll want to lock a seat up elsewhere.

Shady Grove Metro stop for 201 as well, so if you're near the metro or can get a bus to the park n rides you should be good.

Cashout was pretty quick, I stood in line for about 5 minutes.
That was me... ur welcome

glad i could splash around a bit and help some people have a good day

2-2 plo played very deep and looked like a good game IMO. the bets are true pot though so some player should prob try to keep track of the pot especially for some dealers.

Great! I have free shuttle from my university to SG schools. Now lets see how often 201 serves.
