I'm clueless how these shufflers work, so correct me if I'm wrong. But wouldn't all this be based on the assumption that the shufflers are "stacking the deck" in the first place? Are you (or anyone) suggesting that it's not a random shuffle? If the shufflers don't have the ability to do it, how would cracking it's encryption aid anything?

the shuffler can absolutely identify every card by rank and suit ...i bellieve there is a function that will let it suit the deck also..if that is the case it is certainly possible to compromise it and put the deck in any order you program it to

Good to know, thanks!

Ive never heard of it being based on the # of blinds missed.
Yeah, in 20ish hours at mdl, haven't seen an absent button thrown, with 10+ opportunities. Hopefully this will get better with time.

mike,
lets say u order food from a waitress. an hr later, you lose your $ at the table and leave.

does the waitress get stuck with the bill?
or does the restaurant eat the lost?
or.. ?

Most likely give it to the next person that orders it

I'm sorry. I was making fun of the conspiracy theorists. But not only does the casino want a fair game, but I've heard the company that makes the shufflers only leases them for something crazy like $5k or $10k per MONTH per table They have a very strong interest in not adding a backdoor or letting anything unfair be done to their shufflers. I'm sure they have experts who have analyzed them very carefully.

That is the actual correct poker rule, CT (and some others) just do it wrong. Not surprisingly, MD Live got it right.

lol no. u pay when the food comes.

but that makes sense to pay upfront. wonder why they don't do that?

also mike, how about giving the food runners a portable rewards card swiper so they can deduct the food cost at the table. instead of wasting time running back to the register to swipe it.

Probably because they haven't gotten burned too many times yet. Most places make you pay up front for that very reason (too many people going bust before their food comes).

Thanks
I have stayed at The Hotel and they had a 24 hour shuttle to Md. Live.

Now today I do have a view of the TVs and every station is stuck on the Simpsons! I guess they are trying to fix it. Don't come here right now of you want to play and watch the football game. :/

I had a seat upstairs today where I could clearly see two TVs and they had different football games, and looking down the wall at the next TV, I could see that had yet another game on. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon - playing poker and watching football.

Gotta say the room is amazing.

Gotta work on the food/drink service for sure.

One guy had the dealer out the food service light on and still ended up just flagging down a waitress about 35 minutes later.

They seem severely understaffed. What is frustating though is the few waitresses working don't even stop to ask if anyone needs anything at the middle row tables.

I'm sure it will get worked out.

Had one dealer that insisted on making change for ever redbird call (1/2) out of the box rather then make change from the pot when possible but other then that very minor hiccup the dealers were terrific.

Floor and dealers seemed to be on same page for any and all situations that came up where they were called over too.

Well done Mike and team! I look forward to many more trips!

Just change tables

Mike, is there any update on the speculation of having overhead cameras installed for live feeds of games?

Every time I've ordered food, they've told me I had to pay up front. Maybe you just look more trustworthy/less busto than me.

I've never odered but ive seen people at my table do, and they pay when the food arrives.

but then again all the times ive seen people get food, it was at a 2/2 plo table where people stay forever.

mike, is there an official policy?

huh? why would people want live feeds of their games?
I certainly don't want my face to be on camera for all of internet for privacy concerns.

I vote no to this dumb idea!

It was proposed in the hype thread to have one (or more) tables that could potentially generate a live stream online. Could be used for final tables of major tournaments or a new 'Live at the MDL' type series, in which case it would be voluntary to get into that game.

15/30 LHE people, this game hasn't gone since Tuesday - every day, the list slowly grows, and either it doesn't get to 10 before all the tables are filled, or they'll end up calling it, and it doesn't go because presumably the list is stagnant and half the folks on it have already left the casino or are playing in another game they don't want to leave.

If we want this game to go, it seems like we need to organize a little bit. Now's the time to do it before it completely falls off the radar at Live!. Should we pick a time and show up? Thursdays at 7pm? Saturdays at noon? I don't mind starting the game shorthanded if others are willing. And when it has started shorthanded, it seems to fill up eventually - we just need to get it going. The game has been great when it's gone.

I'll play pretty much any day except Wednesdays when I have another commitment, though I'm out of town this coming Thursday - Sunday. I'd love for it to at least run on the weekends.

It seems like the 4/8 game has a semi-loyal following, though I assume those players are mostly jackpot miners.

P.S. 25/50 had a four-person list at one point this weekend too.

I stayed with my wife over labor day weekend and the rooms were around $140/night? There is a preferred partners list on the Md. Live website that lists the hotel discounts!

The hotels that the casino partners with (about 8) offer small discounts but, they are less than AAA rate in all cases. I'm staying at Red Roof Inn paying around $65 including tax.

Mike, is there anything you can do to influence the speed of the waitresses, especially on floor 2? I've gone over an hour with none coming to my table to ask for drink orders. I've gone half an hour waiting for a diet soda. And yes, I tip my waitresses even for the freebies so its not me being a cheapskate. They're great eye candy, but horrible waitresses.
