Sorry but any functional adult can keep a mask on. It really gets old when people can't do a basic task which puts everyone including the casino at risk. They have had it with people with that issue. Add alcohol and it's even worse.

It's bad for business for this to happen. Everyone around the incident stopped playing and started watching. It was a huge commotion and extremely distracting.

And I don't agree that once someone has too much to drink the police have free reign to treat them however they like. He was not dangerous. He was just asking to call his wife.

To make matters worse, the casino served him waaaay too much. I happened to be playing with him that night and he had three or four drinks at the table in front of him at the same time. They served him, took his rake, and said "thanks for your business, now enjoy abject humiliation." Seems wrong to me.

Anyway, I for one am voting with my feet and playing at MGM for the time being.

No drinks there so easy solution. But no coffee has me going there only once a week now

So was it a "cop" or security? If cops were called, obv he's been giving them a problem and refusing to abide and follow instructions never ends well. If he was asked to leave, there's no negotiating, he needs to leave now. He's an adult. He can call his wife when he exits the building. Thank God for security who are always there to protect us as well as the employees. I'm sure MDL won't be missing your action if you decide to boycott them while know even knowing both sides of the story.

Agreed. But it seems to be the non-functioning adults that do not want to wear masks. Just sayin'

Thinking of making trip to play 5 card plo...I’ve only seen 2/2 running last few weeks. Anyone know if it plays especially big?

It always does. $200-1k buy-in. Most of the time $5 button straddle. It’ll play big enough for you. 1k+ pots enough. 2k+ pots enough.

For what it’s worth, when a patron gets asked to leave or ejected for appearing intoxicated, that isn’t done by the casino or the poker room. That’s the gaming commission. And they are required to arrange transportation for that person when they do.

I accept as fact that you've told us everything you are aware of regarding this incident.

But that does not mean there aren't other things at play here that you are not aware of.

Anyways, interesting story.

Giving a senseless ultimatum to leave immediately and call outside (in the wintry cold mind you) seems less reasonable than what this "drunk," as you say, requested.

He's not just a "drunk," he's a regular player/customer in the casino who was served too much. And we all know him and like him. If you knew him maybe you would care more too.

Did this happen around 10pm the other night by table 2? I walked right through it on my way to the bathroom. When I walked by then it seemed a little tense but nothing to bad.

For the record, people should be able to handle their alcohol. Server has 20 to 40 ppl she is serving in her section. It's impossible to be everyone's babysitter and provide good service.

I think this is nonsense, I know some people might hate this these days but there is still such a thing as personal responsibility. You dont want to be treated like an abject drunk - stop drinking so much.

I've seen ML handle a couple situations like this in the last year or so and IMO they handle things 100 times better than the floor/staff at MGM.

The one time i've seen mgm poker handle a drunk was a couple of months ago.
A supervisor called security. A couple of security guards came up to the drunk and asked him to leave. (Supervisors no longer handle drunks directly.)

he racked up, cashed out, and left the poker area without incident. (security was near him all the way.)

Do you need a card to play during COVID times? Thinking of making a stop here this weekend. Normally play at MGMNH and they require a MLife card to get seated.

Yes there is. It wasn't too big for me, I'm a gold card and got a discount but maybe it's more for plat.

No you don't need a card to play. However during certain times (haven't been there in a couple weeks but it used to be Fri and Sat after 8pm or 10pm) you needed a card to enter and you won't be able to park in the garage unless you have a Gold card or higher at those times as well. Otherwise park in the lot across from the garage entrance. I played at MGMNH and also Borgata which is MGM and they do require cards to go on the list, but there are still players who sit down and they're entered as a guest. I think it's so they don't have to call out names anymore, they just send texts.

Anyone know if the 10/20 Big O game is a private game? I've never been to MD Live (only go to MGM and Charles Town), but I've heard in the past that the higher stakes games there are sometimes invite-only. Was thinking about checking it out once I get vaccinated.

Oh dang, didn't realize that, thanks. Was surprised a game that big was running every day! Well, still kinda surprising, but not as much...

Wouldn't mind playing a fixed limit game, but not worth the drive for me for those stakes.

id much prefer PLO8 to fixed limit 08 myself, saves u a ton on blinds if u like to play really tight. sit back for $3-4 total per orbit and fold, while u wait for a hand to shove, instead of $15 per orbit in blinds and then not being able to bet enough to protect your hand. a 10-20 fixed limit game is much more expensive than a $1-2- or $2-5 PLO8 game.

Depends how you like to gamble. I like PLO8 or pot limit big O more if it’s loose but limit there is always action and good pots. I’d prefer 15-30 or 20-40 but I will take what I can get — less boring than 1/3 to me for sure, I love hi low games in general though.

Just play the 2-2 5-card. Plenty of gambool.

Typical hand. Straddle 5, raise 25, raise 75, raise 215 5 callers, >1k in pot pre

AT2hhx flop. I have QJxxhh. Get it in versus 215 raiser who obv has set of Aces. I turn flush, he boats w 2 river for a 3k pot.

It's sun 11pm.

For the past 2hrs ALL the ticket redemption machines are out of cash.
They're not refilling them for some strange reason.

Loooooooong line at the main cage.

That also means the only way to get cash from your debit card is at the main cage.

And slot/table players are walking out instead of waiting at that long line to reload.

This must be costing md live some profit.
