Also can we get clarification on whether reduced rake is automatic or needs to be be requested? BC it had to be requested. It's not clear now

Needs to be requested

I was told it has to be requested by a dealer though I’ve also seen some put out the reduced rake sign on their own. I always request now even at MGM where they say it’s automatic and doesn’t have to be requested (because some dealers forget). Bottom line if you don’t see the reduced rake sign physically out then always request imo at both places.

Royal vs straight flush.
50k/25k/25k (5k each for the other 5 players)

plus the person who hit the Royal got $500 Royal bonus + whatever the high hand amount was

Is it worth trying to get in the casino before my reserved time?

Will I be able to stay past my reserved time?

Is it worth trying to park in the garage if I don’t have a high member rewards status?

Are wait times for a seat longer than usual?

I never made a reservation but I get here early. You can stay as long as you want.

They check cards at the garage at those times.

Wait times are what they are, hard to say but they move fast in general.

I noticed that in tournaments structures there’s always jackpot fee.

What does that stand for? I thought in tournaments there’s not bbj?

Trip report- the experience was pretty much the same as pre covid- parking lot had plenty of spaces, no need for a reservation (even though I made one), didn’t wait too long for a table.

Only differences were the temp check, masks, and the plexiglass. Oh, and winning the smaller share of the mega bad beat jackpot.

i didnt get my august Ladder promo freeplay for my July points.
ie: earn 5k points in a month, get $20 free play

for poker, you can get 5k points with 33.3hrs play if Platinum.

apparently, md live suspended the Ladder promo because they cant open at capacity.
did anyone get notice that the Ladder promo was suspended?
(I didn't)

I got an email about converting self- comps to a gift card:

Don’t let your Self-Comps expire! Cash them in for gift cards ... visit ... kiosk to print your ... voucher...bring your voucher to Live! Rewards® to pick up...

Of course, self-comps only expire if you haven't used the casino in 90 days.

So, if you were willing to enter the casino now (I'm not- 77 yrs old, heart issues), you could enter , put a dollar in a slot and leave. Simple.

Or you could convert to a gift card by --ENTERING THE CASINO!

CATCH-22

I appreciate the casino extending the self comps through September but would love a "non-contact" way for us Covid-averse patrons to save our self-comps for a better (and safer) day.

Can I get an update on the nightly tournaments?

I know they are capped at 70. 1 hour after start late reg.

How many runners average?

What time are they finishing roughly?

How are they consolidating tables after bust outs?

How did you find out the comps are being extended through September? The Maryland LIVE website keeps telling me that my comps expired May 17th.

My date has also shows as passed.

About a month ago, I checked with customer service (who may have sent me to Rewards desk) and was told that it had been extended.

Do any of the regulars expect a large turnout this weekend, specifically Saturday for Labor Day weekend? The rooms in Philly and A.C. have no chance of opening by then.

I live in Philadelphia and I can drive there comfortably in 2.5 hours.

Wondering if it's worth the commute. I'll be playing $1-$2 or $2-$5.

Thanks !

Wow there is a blast from the past, hope you’re doing well. There is good action at those levels and it’s a fun place to play. They even have 6-12 OE and sometimes 10-20 big O if you want to reminisce about the old days. MGM National Harbor will be busy as well since they have a large BBJ and some hot tables, but it adds probably 45 or so minutes to your drive from NJ.

Hey Jeff,

How are you..hope you're doing well also.

I moved to Philly ~5 years ago...been grinding mostly at Parx and Rivers...(Sugarhouse ) but the 'Rona shut it down.

I'm about 2.5 hours from MD Live, so strongly considering driving down for the Labor day weekend.

Thanks for the info.

Not many players wear gloves but, a few players do. BTW - There are a few players that wear face-shields.

Only a few players wear gloves and no one thinks twice about it when they see ppl wearing gloves but if you're wearing gloves and touch your face with a virus infected glove (God forbid) you can still get sick. The key is keep your hands clean since it can't go through your hands.

Every table has a large bottle of sanitizer and there are a lot of sanitizing stations throughout the casino.

heard the mini-bad beat no longer has table share.

1st, the Mega is capped at $100k and now no table share for the mini.
is the promo fund running that low?
