Is it the whole series or just the main event?

Question: there are over 20 tables going tonight, despite the governor indicating the seriousness of the current situation. Do poker players have immunity due to our normally terrible hygiene? Do those still playing not think they need to slow the spread?

Interesting that strip casinos in Vegas are barely running (6 games at Bellagio) but local casinos like Orleans are going strong (over 20) just like MDL.

Guess our daily habits are hard to break?

It's always been a cesspool of society; this just proves it.

I’m hoping it’s just education (if you’re gambling all day maybe you don’t know what’s going on?) It’s probably too much to expect the casino companies themselves to do what’s in the best interests of their customers and limit access. It’s not their job I realize... their employees are going to bear the brunt when business does slow unfortunately. So those that are still playing... tip well.

I'm amazed that while tournaments are cancelled, obviously because having >100 people all together poses a risk, there are currently 21 cash games going on Friday night. Am I being super naive and too cautionary, or are those ~150 people along with staff just being dumb?

I stopped in for an hour or so after work today. Played some three handed stud 8 for a half an hour (wasn't going to pay time to play 3 handed after the first half hour so the game broke). They were limiting all tables to 7-max. Apparently, if they keep it <= 7 players, each floor will comply with the government's advice not to have gatherings of >= 250 people. Not sure how I feel about this. I don't think I'll be going back for a while until I see how all this plague business turns out.

I can't fault the staff as much for showing up to work to earn a living (and not get fired), but as for the players: Natural selection playing itself out.

It's too bad that we can't be there to scoop all that dodo bird money. Most people still playing are probably not the sharpest tools in the shed or have serious gambling addiction issues.

People who are playing don't have a vulnerable family to infect, and if they do, they're thick in the head

If you rubbed it on your titties, it would have been safer.

We're all one big human family (well, species) at the end of the day and this thing is designed to infect all of us as quickly as possible.

If they think they're not putting their loved ones or friends at greater risk by playing, they're wrong.

Word on the street is 1-2 Live dealers tested positive. If so, I'd expect them to close immediately.

Putting corporate profits above public health. What a class act y'all. You should write home to mom about all the good you are doing for society right now by making it 10,000% easier for the virus to spread quickly and devastate our vulnerable populations and healthcare system.

All casino profits should go towards coronavirus relief now, IMO.

Will our comp dollars still expire in 90 days due to inactivity?
